Oh Maggie!

First off I love you so much for the person you are! You are a super friend with a SUPER personality and one of the kindest hearts I have ever met!

WillyJ is also a super person and I'm sure he loves you for the same reasons.

I know how you feel. When John and I started dating I was a size 10-12....well now here I sit a size 24....my weight goes up and down and up and down too but I have never been able to get lower than a 16 again.

I have mentioned Gastric Bypass and John throws a fit. It boils down to this. My husband loves ME, the whole package and no matter how hard it is for me to understand his love at times I know he loves me. My friends are the same way!!
Then I turn it around and realize that I love John no matter what...if he were to grow a big green wart on his nose (No offense to anyone here with a big green wart
) then I wouldn't care. I adore him for who he is and what he is which is my soul mate.

Anyway just my own rambling way of telling you not to worry and that you are loved for you!!

Just take a look at the WISH board and see how many of us are working on this right now!

You're going to have a wonderful time at the meet, and those of us too far away to join in are wishing we could be there with you. Have a great time, and don't worry about a thing. Don't hide from meeting new people or from the camera. The people here know you and love you for who you are.

Mags, my dear, I've been to about 5 DIS meets. I've driven hundreds of miles just to see what a real DISer looks like. I've hosted a meet or two on a cruise, and lots of folks have become friends with me, the chick on the inside...not just the protective layer.

Become friends with your body. Love it for all that it is. Take joy in the way eating has served you well. And give Will one of those GREAT BIG Love Ya hugs he deserves. While you're at it, give him one for me.

Gosh Maggie, I know EXACTLY how you feel. When I went to my 1st DIS Meet, I was pooh-sized and, I've become even MORE pooh-sized since then. However, none of those people knew me at size 10-12 so, what would they know, right?

Well, now I'm facing the reverse. I'm going from internet/DIS life to RL work again and, for someone who DID know me at size 10-12! I can't imagine how shocked he's gonna be when he sees me now.....everything so far has been discussed over the phone. I'm embarrassed and ashamed but, this thread and, your honesty have made ME feel better so, I have to imagine it's helped you also!

You deserve all the praise sweetie, you've been nothing but wonderful to me!

And, here's to us, when we reach our 10-12 again! I hope we get to meet before then, tho!

Hugs, Maggie! I have to tell you that when I met my husband I was overweight. It wasn't until we decided to get married that I lost the weight. He loved me overweight or skinny...it didn't matter. And that's how I knew he was the one for me!! Have a great time!!!!
