Would You Pick AKV or WLV for Mostly MK Trip?

Need to make up my mind this week (WLV or AKV), looking for advice, please.

Currently, have 5 nights booked @ WLV-studio. This trip, only will visit MK 3 days (including 2 MNSSHPs), the rest @ U/HHN & 3 day DCL.

We've never seen the AKL, let alone stayed there ; had wanted to check it out both to try & save points (via value/standard studio) and be able to enjoy the savannah during am/afternoon down time before the evening events.

Have read some reports as to less than stellar bus service to MK

We will have a car (although the MK parking lot is a time-burner too), or would it be the more effective means both time-wise & as a sanity saver as to at least be able to sit down on the drive if we use the car?

Which would you pick?

No matter which resort you are at, it is ALWAYS faster to take Disney transportation to MK than it is to drive. We were are AKV last week, and the bus service was spectacular! We never even had to wait as long as 5 minutes any time to any park. Now we may have just been lucky, but it was wonderful! That being said, if you plan to spend most of your time at MK, then VWL is definitely the closer choice. The two resorts are certainly similar, except for the fact that AKV is so much an added destination. We hardly ever wanted to leave the resort!

yes, the lure of the boat to the MK (and back late @ night after MNSSHP) is strong.

yet, the idea of being able to spend large portions of the day @ AK seems like a great way to finally check it out.

From AK, would it be about a 1/2 hour once on a bus to MK?

Personally, I'd go with a VWL trip for that particular vacation. There are now 2 boats which go directly to the MK from WL. They do not stop at FW or any of the other resorts. The maximum wait for a boat is about 10 minutes.

The boat transportation to VWL is great at the end of the night, but the buses to AK are pretty regular as well. Since you're planning to spend most of the time at MK, maybe VWL would be better. Our kids (13,9, 3,3) preferred the pool at AKL, and we had a savanna view and they loved watching the animals. Pool and animals were the biggest pluses for us there.
