Would you pay extra for a preferred room at Pop Century?

Getting ready to book my trip for next year. The difference in price between staying in a preferred room vs. a standard room is $207. Would you say it is worth it? We've stayed at Pop in the 60's before but not sure how long a walk it is if I book a standard room and we end up in let's say the 80's or 90's.

Eh, unless there's a REASON you really need preferred, I might be inclined to skip it.

I've only booked preferred when traveling solo and didn't want to be walking alone for very far.

And when I booked preferred at Pop, I ended up in the 70s and the disco music in the courtyard drove me bonkers.

Yes since the Skyliner for sure. We were in the 90's last trip so far from everything.

I have paid for preferred, and stayed standard, at Pop. Both trips, I ended up in the 70s building, so the extra cost was pointless for me. I’m sticking with standard for my 2 runDisney trips next spring. If they give you a standard in one of the far buildings, you can always politely request one closer and they might move you if they have one available.

No. I prefer standard at Pop.
Many standard rooms in the 50’s/60’s/70’s will be closer to the Skyliner then the preferred rooms.
90’s is an easy and quick cut through the parking lot to the buses.
No, the price increase isn't worth it since it's not that far to walk to anything anyway.
I agree with both these answers!!!
Not worth it at Pop because the lay out is much better than the All Stars!
I would definitely pay for preferred at All Stars, but not Pop!
The times we have stayed at Pop we had standard and ended up closer to the Skyliner than any preferred.

I personally don't think the walk from the 80s & 90s sections is bad, especially if you use the sidewalk surrounding the parking lot to get to and from the bus stop. My personal favorite section is the 70s. We booked a standard room there back in March and were very close to both the Skyliner station and the main building.

The only time I paid for preferred at Pop was when I visited with a friend who had recently had knee surgery and she wanted to be close enough to the food court, main pool, and transportation to not need a wheelchair at the resort. Unless someone in my party has mobility issues again I don’t plan on paying for preferred again.

Depends. It depends on whether I am stretching my budget to make the trip and could use that $200 for food or souvenirs. It depends on the time of year, as I don’t mind walking a little farther in cooler weather. I have booked standard since the Skyliner opened, and didn’t think the walk was long from my room. Each trip is different, and each family is different.

If we book Pop, we book preferred. Like being close to the pool and the food, including the drink refills.

I actually like the standard. I prefer the quiet and even the walk over the noise experienced in the preferred section.

Nope, not worth it.

Now, if you have someone in your party that needs a shorter walk to the food court, maybe. Maybe someone who is using a cane around the resort, but a scooter to the parks, for example.

Only if there is a person in your party that has a health issue. I am 61 and the only shape I am in is "round" and our family has no issue walking at a resort and think it's a waste of $$ for a preferred "location" room at any WDW resort. We have stayed at a good number of resorts and have not paid extra for a preferred room. Disney does such a great job with their resort themes, that our family likes the walk through the resorts. The longest walk at any resort that we have stayed at is maybe 10 minutes. Maybe when I get older:D
