Let me preface this by saying that I am not a wine drinker, so I totally don't get why someone would spend $100 on a bottle of wine that will be gone in a flash.

Now with that said, would you spend $100 on a bottle of wine?

Me ...no

but many people do (especially out a dinner)

$6 for a box of wine maybe

Hmmm, only if it were a really special occasion. My ex bil however has bottles worth a lot more. I'm not experienced enough to tell the difference. And knowing that each sip was several dollars was strange. lol

Nope.

Not a chance.

I like wine and all , but not that much. I think the most I'd spend would be maybe $15-$20 for a bottle of Mead.

We used to regularly spend $22-25 a bottle, then wised up. We have several faves that are in the $13-18 area and we drink a lot of red wine. No way I'd pay $100.

Nope, because I don't drink wine. But, I'll drop $100 for dinner for 2 at Ruth's Chris in a heartbeat. :)

No, but I worked for a company who's owner bought us a $1500 bottle of wine to share at our annual Christmas dinner. Needless to say, that company has long since gone out of business. Added to that is the fact that we (the employees) would have been just as happy with a glass of beer.

No way. Several of my favs are between $12 and $20 a bottle. It has to be a very special occasion for me to spring for the $20 bottle. Not to mention the fact that I know I couldn't tell the difference between the $12 and the $100!!

Yep. It's not something I'd do very often, but we celebrated paying our mortgage off with a $100 bottle of Bollinger champagne.

Sure would. Though you can get very good everyday wine for 7 or 8 bucks, a great bottle of wine is well worth $100.

Wow! Ruth's Chris without Cabernet? You should really reconsider. ;) :p

I don't drink wine but I know that if I did that I would not spend $100 on one bottle. But then I'm a little tight when it comes to $$ so there's lots of things I wouldn't spend $100 dollars on that other people would in the blink of an eye.

When you are buying wine at a restaurant, you are usually paying double (compared to a wine shop), so unless it is a really, really special occasion - No I would not. That being said though, I do like wine and have started a very small collection and yes for the right wine I would pay $100 per bottle.

I wouldn't but my DBIL would. He's assistant manager at Morton's and very picky about his wine.

I am also very, very frugal, but I'm also a sucker for really good wine. The most I've spent on a single bottle is about $50 (and it was well worth it), and if I were buying it for a special occasion AND to share with people who can appreciate a good bottle of wine, I would pay $100 for one.

you are usually paying double

Probably triple.

I had a software vendor once take me and a colleague and one of the vendor's colleague's to dinner. One dinner for 4 for $800+ including 2 bottles of $90 wine that was excellent. We did not buy any software from him. :p
