Would you mind sharing....

For us, family of 6. 2 adults 4 kids. 2 kids count as adults and one is under 3.

7 nights at POR, MYW base tickets and DDP June 13-20- $3200 (Free QSDP upgraded to DDP)
Gas to and from- $300
1 OOP meal- $110
Tips- $230
Extra food (for breakfast in room, snacks)- $100
Souvies- $150 (kids have their own money and I don't buy much just little trinkets)
Total- about $4100 gas won't actually cost that much and I have about $50 in rewards cards to go for gas plus Kroger discounts on our first fill up. We might grab a hotel on the return trip that will be about $50.

Staying at Pop, Standard Room, MYW/hoppers/WP&M (Pin Code) = $2,700
Rental (Full Size) Car for 15 days = $500
Groceries for the Room/Incidentals = $200
Budget for Meals (One sit down and one quick service and one snack a day each) = $2,000 (I've studied the menus/pricing and I bet we stay under this, but I prefer to plan high)
Gas/Food/Two nights on the road = $300

$5,700 for a two week vacation. Woo Hoo!!!
Since I gave myself a starting budget of $6,500 I feel like I'm doing pretty good. But I'll be interested to see how my planning works out in the "real world" since we decided to do meals OOP this time.

My family of three (me, DH and DS-16) has taken 10 trips to WDW. Our trips are usually a week, but we have had several that are 9 or 10 days, and they have ranged in price from $3500-$5000. Most have been on the lower range of that figure. Our costs have included:

Airfare
Towncar transfer to/from MCO airport
Deluxe or DVC property (once we stayed at a moderate)
Park Hoppers (we have never purchased APs)
Food
Tips
Parking our car at our home airport (or paying for a stay/park/fly hotel here)

All of our trips involve discounts of some kind (discount codes, or renting points from DVC owners, for example). We have done the DDP 2x, but the other times we just went OOP for our food. We do not skimp on food, but often we have brought items to do our breakfasts in our room. We do not drink that much alchohol, but will have a few drinks while on vacation. We are not into souveniers; we maybe spend $50 for an entire trip on them (a couple of pins and a Christmas ornament about does it for us). Sometimes we do extra things, like La Nouba, Blue Man Group at Universal, a WDW Water Park, MNSSHP or MVMCP.

We have never purchased trip insurance. OP, I don't get what you mean about emergency funds (for a vacation?). Our trips are affordable for us, and budgeted. We have a 6 month emergency fund, so extra or unexpected expenses are never an issue for us, WDW trip or not.

Okay... here goes... We are a family of 4, all considered adults going June 3- June 10. We never do the dining plan because our 14 yr old dd is the most unadventurous eater ever and would order off the kids' menu. :rolleyes1
8 days/7 nights CBR $2610
4 flights out of Columbus, Oh $701
We got in on the gift card promo, so we have a free $500 gift card, $130 in Disney Visa rewards, and so far $125 in Disney gift cards. That should take care of most of our food because we are going to eat breakfast in our room and take snacks. Our dds will have their own spending money. I am estimating our trip will cost $3700 total. It really stinks when your kids are considered Disney adults!! ;)

We are a family of 4, traveling for 10 days. No plans outside of Disney.

$ 940 -- 9 nights at a 3brdoom Disney themed townhouse in Windsor Hills
$ 900 -- Flights for 4
$1,200 -- 8day tickets with Waterpark option
$ 200 -- Groceries to stock the kitchen
$ 400 -- ADR meals
$ 350 -- Car rental
$ 100 -- Parking
$ 40 -- Each child gets a $20 gift card to use at DTD
$ 100 -- Misc (ice cream, turkey legs, trinkets here and there etc...)
$ 200 -- Surprise gifts for the kids (I buy them all year to give out each day of our trip)

We budget $4,500.

We used the DP once. We didn't need that much food and all of those sit down meals ate up too much of our time. We eat most meals in our room and make ADRs for our favorite places.

We do not get trip insurance.

Not sure what you mean by emergency funds. Do you mean what if there is an emergency while on vacation? We will use a credit card if an emergency pops up and then pay it off when we get home.

Have fun planning! I love the planning but will admit that the budget is my least favorite part of the process! ;)

Maybe you could post when you get back? I think you have done very well and would like to know how it works out for you paying OOP for meals. 2 weeks for 4 people for $5700 is a GREAT deal IMHO. :goodvibes

I usually keep between $4000-4500 aside for our trips. Between DH and I we’ve saved about $5500 so far this year, so we plan to make our anniversary visit more luxurious ;)

Here is how our budget breaks down for our family of 8:
4 nights at Fort Wilderness Campground in the value season = $198 (incl. tx)
All meals cooked at campsite = same price as eating at home = $0
One day at MK using GAD vouchers = $76.50 (for 3yo, who was too young to volunteer)
Other days spent at campground, DTD, or touring other hotels = $0

Total cost = $274.50 + gas
