Would you leave your dog home alone during fireworks

Yes, but only because she LOVES fireworks. She sat and watched them with us last night.

I like what a previous poster said about having a safe place for them. Our dog has several (her bed beside our bed, her bed underneath my husband's desk) and I think she would go there if she were frightened.

One of our dogs is extremely sensitive She shakes violently when a storm is approaching, fireworks, etc I can't always be home We have tried everything Rx from Vet, thundershirt, NOTHING works all I can really do is provide a safe place for her

There are some blessings to all of her angst: We have her since a pup and she is 10 yrs old She alerted when our boiler almost blew up the house when she was about 2 and for that we are eternally grateful I think she would have made a terrific dog for someone who has seizures Her sister has something like human vertigo and Lily always lets me know when an episode is coming on

I would but I never have. We took our beagle to the fireworks this year and last year. He's really more interested in the people around us than the sound of fireworks.

Ours doesn't like them either, but we do leave him alone on the 4th. We turn the tv on and the air conditioning unit in the living room to minimize the outside noise. He's 10 now and has lost a lot of his hearing, so this year I wasn't the least bit concerned
