We are supposed to go to a birthday party for our 1 yo nephew tonight. They live 50 miles away and it is snowing. I already spent over an hour shoveling my driveway and didn't even get to the part where the snowplow threw all of that yucky heavy snow up on it. The whole rest of the driveway is already covered again since I stopped shoveling an hour or so ago.
DH will be working late tonight so I would be taking the three kids by myself and driving all the way from one side of Mpls to the other in rush hour traffic as the party starts at 6:00.
I do not want to drive down there in this. In normal weather on a weekend it takes an hour to get there and tonight it is bound to take at least two hours and then I still have to drive home. But, am I being a baby or a flake by not going? I would call of course and think that if a family member called me and said they were not coming because of these reasons I would totally understand, but not too sure I will get understanding coming back my way.
So, would you go? Why or why not?

It sucks having a winter birthday.
