I'm really tore and don't know what to do. We have two girls age 7 and 4 and just had a baby boy 3 months ago. We really want to go to disney this year, but I am very scared to take a baby. We would probably go when the baby is 9 months, but I have never taken a baby and the thought overwhelms me. This would not be the only trip for the baby, we try to go every two years. So my question is would you go?

Took my 9 month old (at the time) with no problems at all...as a matter of fact he loved it...

We took it slow and did the nap thing, but he was a piece of cake.....and we were a little bit concerned about how he would handle it...

He passed with flying colors, and at two he loved it even more...

My vote is to go:thumbsup2

I would go for sure. Our first trip was when my daughter was turning 4 and my son was 11 months. Yes a little older than 9 months but he was great. He was walking by then but he sat in the stroller most of the time and took it all in. He did not like the characters very much but was ok with the princess's.

I took my son when he was 3 1/2 months old. It was probably one of our easiest trips! The baby napped in the stroller, sat in a baby carrier when we went on rides. I used the baby center to nurse and even nursed on some of the longer attractions.

I would definately do it again...and will be this up coming January with our new addition.

Don't stress, go and have fun with your family!

GO!!

Last year my husband and I took our then three kids. They were 8, 2, and 10 mos. The little guys got tired in the afternoon so we would all head back to the room so they could nap while one of us took off with our 8 y/o for the rest of the afternoon. We all met back up later for dinner and fireworks.

Don't get nervous. Everything will work out fine. you already have two other children so you know how things can change in an instant so don't hold tight to plans or schedules. We hardly made it to any of our dinner reservations that I had made before we went down...lol

I think going with a 9 month old would be easier than with a 18 month old - 2.5 year old...

GO!!!!!!

My youngest niece was only 3 1/2 months old for her first trip to Disney World. At that age, as long as they are fed and played with they are happy. Much easier than taking an older child who wants to buy everything that they see.:rotfl: And you can take a baby on any ride that doesn't have a height restriction, so you don't have to worry about someone missing out on a lot of the fun.

Seriously, go!:thumbsup2

i never thought we'd take a baby to WDW but we did just that when he was 5 months old and my older 2 were 8 and 5...we had a great time!

I took my son when he was 5 months old. It wasn't bad at all. I put him in the Baby Bjorn when we went on rides and used the baby swap when he couldn't go on. No one wanted to go into the Haunted Mansion with me and I took him and he fell asleep! He napped in the stroller. Whenever I had to nurse him, I did it in one of the theaters they had a show running (Nemo, Hall of Presidents,etc...) He was actually easier than my 2 1/2 yr old at the time!

go, but when it is cooler. our kids have traveled at 8 weeks, 9 months, 11 months. When they aren't walking or wanting to walk is when it is the best. They can go on all the rides that don't have height restrictions.

Have fun!

We're not going to WDW this year specifically because we have a baby. But I have extenuating circumstances: my baby has acid reflux and it's very messy to go *anywhere*, let alone WDW, not to mention all the extra clothes and medicine we'd have to bring with us. We are going to wait until 2011 and hope that she grows out of her AR by then. If you're scared to go, then wait until the baby is older. WDW will still be there when you're ready.

This is not a popular opinion, but I wouldn't go to Disney with a child who was wasn't potty trained.

Go!

And make use of the child swap - it is awesome and your older kids will get to ride more rides because of it!

Yes, absolutely yes. We went when DD was 9 months and she was a champ (even with a 6 hour delay at the airport on both ends . She rode in her stroller most of the time, and just napped (we bouight a cheap reclining umbrella stroller) as she saw fit. We kept her sunblocked and hydrated and all was well. The oly minor issue we had was Goofy kinda freaked her out which killed the character greets for the rest of the trip.

I would go no problem with a 9 month old, we go often so I'd be OK to take it easy and not be upset over "missing" anything. It seems you also go often and would be fine with a slower pace since you have already seen the parks before. I also think 9 months old is a great age for Disney if you have a laid back baby, they are so curious and wide eyed at that age (or at least mine was). My concern is you said you feel overwhelmed, and if I thought I was going to be overwhelmed then I would not go.

Thanks for all the advice. I should say I only feel overhelmed by the amount of stuff that I would need for the baby and need to take into the parks. He is a good baby and loves to look around, so I am not worried about that. I guess I was just looking for people who could confirm I'm not nuts for considering this.

You are definately not nuts.

If you are worried about how much stuff you will need for your little one, don't forget you don't have to tote it all around. Rent a locker. Keep a few things with you, but put extras in the locker. Going to WDW with a little one is not as hard as you think it is. Go, and have fun!

We took a 14-week-old to WDW in 2007. It was December, unseasonably warm, then unseasonably cold. He was absolutely fine.

Part of the reason for success was that he was well-socialized before the trip. He was accustomed to napping in all conditions--quiet, noisy, bright, dark, etc., and absolutely loved being around people! Fireworks startled him for a moment, but he immediately went with the flow! :)

His mother was a bit concerned about taking him at that age, but admitted later that it was easier than taking him to Disneyland at age 2! *LOL*

When my kids were that young they stayed home with nana while the rest of us went. So yes I would go, no I wouldn't take an infant.

I would take him if you have to, but I would prefer to leave him behind w/ the grandparents if possible. We were planning a trip to Disneyland a couple yrs ago, and fully intended on leaving baby home w/ her grandparents. We wound up having to cancel our trip, and this time we are going to take her because she's older.
