Would you go?

My husband and I are debating a family trip to Disney during spring break. Our spring break is after Easter. Some Disney fans have told me that it is not even worth going because of the crowds.

Our dilemma is...we have annual passes that expire in May. We will not have another opportunity to use them before they expire because of work committments. Another factor is my youngest daughter turns three in June and therefore would require a ticket (and no free buffet) for a trip taken later.

There is a current deal on a room-only for Passholders that makes our favorite hotel "reasonable." And I have found airfare for approx. $200 per person round trip.

So...
Would you grin and bear the crowds to use your passes again?

OR

Would you wait until the crowds are less knowing that you would have to purchase tickets and pay for another child (because of turning 3)?

I would love your thoughts!

We were at Disney last year for easter and the week following. Honestly, we had been told the same things and were worried about the crowds. I'm not really sure what the big deal is. It did not seem unbearable to us. Our previous trips had been in January when crowds are at the lowest, so we were expecting a big difference. We just didn't see it. So I would say, definately go for it. Don't let an opportunity pass you by. Enjoy!!

How are you with handling crowds? I would love to see wdw at Christmas but no way, no how am I dealing with wall to wall people. I know I just could not enjoy myself. so for me it would be like wasting money.

Since we're dvc'ers we're thinking about spending 3 days down at the world and not doing any parks, just touring the resorts to see the decorations.

Well in your situation I would just go and grin and bear it to get that extra trip in with your passes and before paying for your daughter. Just know the crowds will be insane but maybe if you do other things the beginning of the week...by the end of the week it will get a little better with people leaving?

We went 2 years ago when our Spring Break was the week b/4 Easter and oh my gosh I had to get a stroller for our 9 and 7 yr old because the crowds were so great and I was afraid of losing them. We were at AK and you just had to go wherever the crowd took you cause there was no turning to go another way as we were shoulder to shoulder. But we did have a good time anyway and in your situation I'd go for it.

Absolutely I'd go!!!

We usually get 3-4 trips out of an AP, some times at off season, and some times during the summer.

When we go in the busier summer months, we spend more time enjoying being there...if that makes sense. We go into it knowing we will not see everything, or nearly what we are able to do in an off time. We just choose our "must-do's" and anything else is a bonus. The extended hours are also great!

Remember, fast pass is your friend...

I would absolutely go in your situation. If it was my kids first trip, or our families one and only trip of the year I wouldn't. But, since you have gone before you won't feel the "gotta do it all" stress. Just go and do what you can, relax and enjoy your time.

Well I am taking it u have been before an know what you would like to do. I just like going finding a bench and people watch for a bit as well, so I would totally go!

We went last year the week after Easter and had a great time! We have always gone during slower times too. We are planning on going again the week after Easter this year! Just try and make rope drop it will make all the difference in the world!

I'm no good with crowds. We were there the week before Christmas and that was pushing it - that first Satuday of the holiday break was wall-to-wall ridiculously packed, to the point where staying for Holiday Wishes was a little scary. We didn't even try to do any rides that day; at 1am the lines were still just too long. I enjoyed seeing all the holiday festivities, but I'm happily going back to our slower season trips.

Thanks for the input! I just checked dining reservations too and it seems like we could get some of the places we enjoy.

I was also thinking that having our Give A Day/Get a Day vouchers would help with crowds because we could use those for fastpasses. I should have them prior to the trip.

I"m thinking that things are lining up to go! My husband and I were talking about what a shock that could be in the girls' Easter Baskets--a trip to Disney leaving that afternoon!

Go! But have a backup plan for what to do in case it's crazy crowded so you aren't disappointed.
