Would you go to WDW without your kids?

Actually, I did this last year for my Honeymoon. DH had never been to Disney, so we planned it and went. I did feel guilty for being there without them, BUT IT WAS MY HONEYMOON! Anyways, we had a great time and just got to run through all the parks like kids. It was great. But my kids definitely let me know that they fully expected a trip with them and soon too. So Thanksgiving will be my "make up for going without them" trip.

My husband and I have discussed this in the past, and as of now we wouldn't. We would feel too guilty.

Yep. I've been there twice without my kids (once solo & once with a girlfriend). My kids' 5th trip is coming up in November, for the Christmas happenings, so I don't feel too bad about going this time with my dh for our Anniversary. So far, we have 6 rides to do, rides that we will actually get to ride TOGETHER, instead of baby swapping out! Also in the plans are Jiko, Boma, Brown Derby, Le Cellier and some other nice places to relax without worrying who we are boring! lol... Oh, and actually CLOSING my eyes at poolside, sitting in the hot-tub at night for however long we want (together!), sleeping in (no early entries for us!) and otherwise doing what we want, when we want, where we want with no meltdowns! :bounce:

We asked the kids first, they are 8, 5 and 3. Their first response was AWWWW, but then we reminded them of their trip in November (oh, OK!), time with Grammy/Grampy (YEAH!), and souveniers! We also told them all the boring things we would be doing and getting "out of the way" for our November trip! That clinched it in their minds!

So, yep. I have gone and am going without the kids! It is a completely different experience being on vacation and not the MOM on vacation! I've also discovered different things when my focus is not on the kids and they have enjoyed them on the next trip!

You mean again! My kids are grown, although they still go with us. However we never miss a chance to go. There are alot of things to do, especially in Epcot that are suited for adults.

I went several times with DH before kids. Now we go down with extended family. That's nice because we can unload the kids for a couple of days and have time in the parks alone, yet also go there with them.

YES,YES,YES

DH and I went last year as a belated 10 year honeymoon. Although we missed the girls, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the parks with out worrying about the lines, crowds, rain, etc. It allowed us the opportunity to be kids vs watching the kids.

I think my DH would agree... we would go again without the kids.

It is good to remember to foster the parent relationship, also!!!

I will say that the next time we go, DDs will also be coming.

Linda:)
