We have been to US four times before Harry Potter was opened.
Our kids, age 12 and 14 are only interested in Harry Potter.
Is it worth going?

If you would leave the park after WWoHP I would say skip it until you are ready to spend the day there.

So, you're suggesting they wait? ;)

Not sure I've ever seen a quad-post before, and from a mod no less! :goodvibes

But seriously - it is worth going to IOA? YES YES YES!!!

It is worth it to walk in, see Harry Potter, and leave? Nope.

There is so much there to see and do. Take a day and explore the entire park - not just one piece of it. It is like someone saying they want to go to the Magic Kingdom only to walk in Tomorrowland and leave. The park is amazing. I hope you enjoy it! :thumbsup2

IF you've been there 4 times you would know what there is to see there. Your kids are old enough to look at the USF website and see if they want to spend the day there or not.

For the price I would stay the whole day or not go at all.

Yeah...it was my stupid computer at work so I had to wait until I got home to delete the dupes.

Is it worth it, nope. Would that be like going to Disney just to see the castle?:confused3

No fair, you're abusing your powers! You're gonna have to delete my post too to erase all evidence. I dare ya! :goodvibes

Going to the WWoHP my first time this year, and from what I hear/read looks like it isn't a whole day affair. If they're not interested in seeing the rest of IOA or even Universal Studios then I really don't think its worth the cost. Considering that a day at a Universal property doesn't even compare in cost to what you're spending at WDW for the day.

Is it worth it going to WWoHP then leaving? NO. Is it worth going and spending the day at IOA? YES YES YES! Without a doubt the best non-Disney theme park in the world! imo, of course.

We went just for WWoHP - we walked around the rest, but found half of it to be a lot like six flags over tackyville. Loved WWoHP, and will go again for a day, spend as much time there as we care to, and then walk right out again. They did a great job with WWoHP, except you could hear the hulk coaster and some other nonHP intrusions, which was a shame. Wish they could have given it more space, but with Universal plunked in the middle of a highly developed area, they have disneyland syndrome. Must be cool to go to the HS across the street and see the back of Hogwarts every day though!

If you think the price of admission is worth it for just 3 rides (one of them being the best in the world), a few shops and an eatery, then sure.

I might or might not but that doesn't matter because I love the rest of IOA and its dozen other attractions.

Have you been to IOA or just Universal Studios before?

Coming from a psychotically Harry Potter fan... I would stay all day there. That said... only on a day when it's not busy. The environment is awesome! The music is great! The dances and songs are phenomenal! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the butterbeer. I could totally dress up in costume and it'd be ok because I wouldnt be the only one there doing it. I'd sit and enjoy the scenery, walk about honeydukes in amazement. Take pictures with some of the same faces Harry has. Best part is, when I move down in January, I can do this ALLLLL the time! So I guess for me, it's worth it. If you're kids are diehard fans, all the books, all the movies, felt like Harry broke up with them when the last movie was on film...then yes. It's worth it. If your kids are just fans and like Harry Potter and just want the experience, then no. It's not worth the money.

I got a ticket and went just to Harry Potter. Spent a few hours there, did not ride the rides - my back won't take any of that - but I walked through and saw the theming, ate at the 3 broomsticks, visited the wand attraction and bought a wand, bought out honeydukes, drank butterbeer and pumkin juice, sat around and people watched, talked to their castmembers, watched the 2 live 'shows' with the toad and the dancers/schoolgirls, took tons of pictures and then had dinner at Mythos.

I wouldn't have missed it and I haven't read the first HP book, but I have seen one movie - don't ask me what it's name was.

There are loads of other attractions to do, just I am not up to speed for those rollercoasters.

I still felt I got my money's worth, although I would only buy one jar of candy in HD if I were to visit again.

Universal did an outstanding job with the theme. I don't think Disney could have outdone them.

I will be going back in January when it is cooler to wander around some more as I still have tickets.
