Would you give up a day at Disney to experience Legoland?

I agree with what many others have said. Because your having a long stay you wont miss one day at LL. Whenever I get back to DL I know I will be forced to consider a day at LL as well as DD (6 now) saw a LL flier the last time we went to DL and has been asking to go since then (its been 1 1/2 years now since we last went to DL). For me I just want DL, but like someone else said, its her vacation to.

Given the length of your trip and the ages of your kids a day at Legoland would be worth it (since you have never been). There are some really cool things there like the Minilands that are fun to see. One thing to keep in mind is that it is very much a kids park and unlike Disney there are not as many "whole family" rides so you will spend more time waiting while the kids finish their ride. When we went it was fun but to tell you the truth the best part was the hotel. It probably isn't as fancy as the price indicates but it has great theming and is very kid oriented. At night they have activities down in the lobby (along with legos to build with and play structures) which really extends the day (LL closes earlier than Disneyland). Make sure you check their calendar to make sure they are open the day you want to go. During the off-peak times they are usually closed during the middle of the week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

Unless I missed it, no one asked if you have a car or not. Legoland is not easy to get to without a car.

thank you for this visual. What a hoot if you like the Google Map culture. It captured these two boys climbing light pole sanctions and an employee gesturing to them get off the utility poles, they were about 7 feet off the ground. another shot had a boy trying to measure up to the height requirement to ride an attraction. And wouldn't you know, the one ride that looked really original, was down for refurb.

I actually laughed out loud reading your post. Those kids on the pole must have looked kinda funny.

But yeah, I think LegoLand is great to try at least once. We skipped Lego Land when my brother was younger and went to DL instead as usual and ended up regretting it. When I had my son and he was around 5, we took him to LL and we loved it. Yeah there are a little t of kids rides but adults can get on a LOT of them and we did. My favorite was probably that red dragon coaster thing.

Legoland is extremely meh. I would MUCH rather go to Universal Studios.

Thank you, I really appreciated all your feedback. I was originally planning to stay 4 nights onsite at Disney DVC, then 6 nights offsite. Now I think I'll do 3 onsite and go to Legoland Hotel for our 4th night and come back and stay offsite the last 6 nights. I'll be sure to get my EE entry in before I venture off to LL. This way I technically am only missing 1 day into Disney (that's if I'm not too tired to go back in the night we get back! ) I saw that there is outlets out in Carlsbad too, might have to drop in there as well! Thanks for the tip for Google maps, we'll do a roam around LL tonight via the television/computer Wish I could do the same for DL, it bugs me that I can't get inside there!
