Would you order the DDE if it were just two adults?
We will be eating at these restaurants:

CP--Breakfast
Bomas --Dinner
Prime time--lunch
Whispering Canyon--Dinner
Rose and Crown--lunch
Ohana's--dinner
Cindy's --lunch
Boma's--Breakfast
Hollywood and Vine--fantasmic package
Tusker house-lunch

We are hoping to go back in Dec but there is a chance that we will not be able to. If we were sure then I would not think twice about getting it.
I keep going back and forth on this so I thought I would see if other couples have gotten it and felt like it was worth it.

I think I would. You only have to spend $250.00 to "break even" my DH and I would definately spend that at these places.

CP--Breakfast $40.00
Bomas --Dinner $60.00
Prime time--lunch $55.00 w/dessert
Whispering Canyon--Dinner $70.00 w/ dessert and/or alcohol
Rose and Crown--lunch $40.00
Ohana's--dinner $75.00 w/ two Lapu Lapus (we can't seem to go to Ohanna's without these - lol
Cindy's --lunch $40.00
Boma's--Breakfast $35.00
Hollywood and Vine--fantasmic package $70.00
Tusker house-lunch $25.00

For us those meals would cost a little over $500.00 - that would mean a $100.00 savings minus the $50.00 charge would be a $50.00 net savings. I think $50.00 is worth the trouble of getting a DDE

If you are ordering alcohol at any of those places then definately.

Well we will not be ordering any alcohol since we don't drink. ( We are strictly diet coke and coke drinkers)
I should have stated that in the post. Also we don't normally get a dessert after dinner unless we do buffet.
So what do you think? Would you still do it? It sounds like it will still save us some so we might as well go ahead. We don't have our AP's yet. Can we still order the DDE if we don't have them yet? I heard somewhere that you can get them for the full price and then when you have the AP number to give them, then they will refund your $25. :confused3

Just remember....you only need one card. You get a second card for family members anyway, and one card gives discounts for up to 10 people in your party. I say, YES! Get it!! You will save a lot as shellybaxter showed you!

I would definately get it. $250 is the breakeven point for the DDE card. You are way past it.
If you spent the guesstimated $500 and end up saving "only" $50... Well, $50 is still $50. I'd get the card.

My mom and I saved $43 in Jan and only used the card at Breakfast 2x, Chef Mickeys and Cape and dinner 3x Ohanas, Trails End and Le Cellier. There was no alcohol this trip. I would say get the card. It will be good until at least 2/28/06.

I thought it was $75 for non-Disney holders....but it's really $50? Is it just on special from Disney since they are promoting it? Do I order directly from them?

Geez, then where did I hear you could get it for $25? I thought it was $25 for APs and $50 for regular folks. :confused3 Bad info I guess... carry on!

Thanks all :)
I just ordered our AP's so i guess I'll call on Monday to order our DDE.
I will probably have to pay the $75 since i don't have a voucher # yet but I heard that they will refund the $25. Hope so. :)
Once again thanks

Why not wait until the vouchers arrive and save yourself (and Disney) the hassle???

Because I thought it would be worth a shot to hopefully get the card before we go instead of having to take the e-mail ( I know it is not that big of deal but just easier to carry a card )
I also didn't see it as a big hassle for me or for Disney actually. :confused3

We are just two adults and it was definately worth it for us. We aren't huge eaters but on our 6 day trip the beg on February we saved approximately $80 in total so really $30 over the cost of the card. We will be returning within the year with our AP's so I know it will be worth it even more but would have gotten the DDE just to save the $30 this time. It actually reduces the amount of tax that you pay on the meal too btw.

Just and FYI.

DDE is for AP holders and FL residents only. If you don't have an AP or a voucher they will not issue you a card (unless you are a FL resident). You will have to provide the number on the back of the AP card or the voucher in order to receive one.

There was some mis-communication at the beginning of the year that non-AP holders/Fl residents could obtain one but that has since been corrected and they are stricter in enforcing this.

Good to know. Thank You Cobbler :)
They said my AP's should get here the first week of March so I will call then.
I was just hoping to do it now so the chances would be better to get the card before we go.

Two weeks ago I made our room ressies, and ordered AP's. When I ask about DDE, I was transferred to another CM. I told her I just ordered AP's, and gave her the confirmation #. She only charged me $50 for DDE.

Has Disney changed the DDE policy again? :scratchin
I thought it was for AP holders only, and cost $50. And I thought guests had to provide their AP pass or voucher numbers at the timeof ordering a DDE card.
Jeez, I am REALLY glad we each have a PAP AND are FL residents!

Oops... Never mind. I see the policy has not changed for a few weeks.
