Would you get AP's for 2009?

Thanks for the reminder about the water park APs...does anyone know if you can use a 1-day bases ticket as credit towards it? If thats the case, I can get one for around $25 each. :thumbsup2

Yes you can and that is what we do almost every year. We did the POP Century Free Dining package and upgraded our 1 day passes to DQ/WP AP's.:thumbsup2

Did it again in Sept 2008 and will upgrade the base tix when we return at Christmas.

Any guest service can upgrade you.

Yes, that is great news. Thanks!

The DDE - now Tables in Wonderland- is only available to AP holders or Florida residents. We like this because we eat at many table service restaurants and this gives us a good discount. Even though you pay $65 for the card, for us it pays for itself in two nights usually. This can help especially since we don't usually do the Dining Plan. This time we probably will not all get APs but one will so that we will have the options. I also collect pins and like to be able to get the passholder pins.

Since the discount is percentage based recovering your cost for the card is completely dependent on the size of your group and how much table service dining you plan and how much alcohol you drink.

We are a family of 3 and for us, we used it all we could for a week without having to go TOO FAR out of our way to find a place that accepted it and we were still about $15 short of recovering our $65 investment. Trip # 2 was a short 4 nighter and we finally broke even (I think we used it twice). FINALLY, our 3rd trip with it was another quickie (3 nights) and we finally were in the clear by using it at Jiko and Boma and at a CS place in AK. We drank all we could and we ate all we could afford...but for a smaller family eating "average" meals (mix of CS and TS) it takes a lot of planning to get the $65 back.

I think it's GREAT if you're a larger family or have older kids that eat more than mac & cheese... I am glad we tried it - will probably get it again IF we're going with more than just the 3 of us so we can get a good discount on some TS dining for a larger group...otherwise it's like work to get your money back...

When did they allow Hopper Passes to be used at DisneyLand in CA?

I believe it has always been allowed, just not advertised or promoted.

We used our hopper passes in Aug 2008 before we caught the Repo Cruise. We presented our tix to the lady at the turnstile and another CM came out of the booth, took our tix in and charged them a day and then gave us a separate 1 day hopper tix for that day only. Took all of 5 min.
You have to do it everyday, but it saved us quite a bit of money on separate park tix.

This alone, is benefit enough for us to purchase the 10 day tix instead of the AP.

That is our problem with that discount also. Most of the time we are just 2, and don't usually order alcohol (not that I don't drink) so the discount just does not justify the cost. I wish they had a DDE lite!
