When it's just 2 kids wanting to spend the night, no, I don't think it's rude for your daughter to ask if someone can spend the night. But if the other parent is looking to get rid of her child for the evening, then it is rude. And don't feel bad to say you can't do it. You have legitimate reasons for not allowing it.
