We don't like TS at DHS at all. If you have park hoppers, it's easy to get to Epcot to eat. If not, we LOVE taking the boat to Beach Club and eating at Cape May. We're trying Captain's Grille next trip, too.

it may not be exactly what you're after in regards to a meal however we've had lovely lunches at Staring Rolls Cafe. I hate (i know its a strong word) the ABC Commissary, its always like a battle to get a table as it seems constantly busy!

we will be doing starring rolls for lunch for sure! It looks yummy! and will be a nice change from the hamburgers and such we will have elsewhere I think we are going to EPCOT for dinner that night for sure now

The problem with DHS, the forgotten park:

1. Not enough decent counter service. Pizza Planet, yuck, ABC Commissarry, double yuck. Staring Rolls, often is too busy and runs out because it is one of the very few good QS. If you want to eat well you absolutely need an ADR. For lunch we like SCi-Fi. For dinner the Brown Derby has delicious food, 50's Prime Time also good.

*Most importantdly, later in the evening, there is nothing to eat but the awful ABC Commissary, nothing else is open. They have pm EMH but they don't have any QS open, it's ridiculous!

2. They need more rides.

we have only tried 2 places Hollywood and Vine and 50's Prime Time. The food was better at 50's basic comfort food but good. Hollywood and Vine was just OK but it seems like you can always get a table, walk up, with a minimal wait.

we really like HBD. We were too impress with the food at Mama Melrose. I would skip H&V completely but breakfast wasn't too bad compare to their lunch

this year in December. I decided I just didn't want to go out of the park for a TS meal. We have the Fantasmic package for another day and we are doing Mama's that day. I won't do Brown Derby for 2 credits or OOP. I do like the Brown Derby for the Imagineer Luncheon.

First, when you think about it I don't think the H & V buffet is any worse than any other outside buffet like Old Country Buffet or Golden Corral. Many compare this restaurant to other Disney restaurants; so, it can fall short by comparison that way. I don't think it will ever be voted as anyone's favorite restaurant at Disney, either. That said it's the only buffet in the park. So, if you like buffet it's ok.

Part of this experience will be what you choose to eat there, too. A salad is a salad almost any where you go. You can find a way to pick buffet items that won't turn you off. We are going to try again, here this year.

I have found the restaurant not to be too roomy and I feel cramp there. It can be a little chaotic at times, too. There seems to be a little more impoliteness, here for some reason.

The food is mediocore, but it's all tolerable. If you have a bigger appetite this is probably the best place in the park to go.

There's really not a stand out restaurant at H.S. I use to like SciFi for their rib dinner, but that's gone now.

Every restaurant can have a bad day at Disney. There have been times I've been dissappointed in Le Cellier, but it doesn't mean I won't go back there.

Just read you are going to alaska! That is my hubby's dream trip is an alaskan cruise --- and now that Disney is doing one...i would totally think about it! LOL

I am VERY excited! I have wanted to see Alaska for a long time and have wanted to do a Disney cruise for a long time. Soooo, given that we can just drive to Seattle to board the ship, how could I pass it up??

Have a magical vacation!!!! I am sitting in our resort right now exhausted from 8 straight park days but sad to be leaving tomorrow.

I have been to Brown Derby and 50's Prime Time Cafe and I would go back to either location whenever I get the chance.

We have been to Brown Derby and Mama Melrose. We really like them both. Brown Derby can be slow. Mama's has been good all around.

However Epcot is our favorite place to dine. Biergarten and Teppan Edo are 2 of our favorites.

We did the Fantasmic dining package a couple of weeks ago at Mama Melrose's, and we were pleasantly surprised. We didn't go in with high expectations, but it was probably one of our favorite meals of the trip.

We also like Sci Fi for lunch, more so for the atmosphere than the food, but we've never had what we would describe as a horrible meal there.

I haven't been to 50s Prime Time in about 8 years, but we probably won't try it again anytime soon. I think my son would enjoy the atmosphere, but I know DH wouldn't. From what I remember, the food was very good.

Last time, we had 2 DHS days. We went to lunch at Sci-Fi one day, and at 50s PT the other. We loved both of them...and we enjoyed both the food and the experiences. We had dinner at resorts those evenings. In July, we're definitely going back to both...probably Sci-Fi for lunch one day, and 50s PT for dinner the second DHS day.

A few years ago, in the summer of 2008, we went to Hollywood & Vine for the Playhouse Disney character breakfast, mainly because the boys were into those shows back then. We all loved it, both for food and character interaction. We had the earliest ADR possible (8am), and we were out of there about 10-15 minutes before rope drop.

We love 50's PT! Would also eat at Sci-Fi if 50's was not available. I have eaten at BD before, but paid OOP. Would not use 2 TS credits for it.
