Im anxiously awaiting the announcement of where the Magic will be going during those mysterious months in 2005. I have been planning forever to take a 7 day cruise in either July or August 2005, but if its sailing out of California, like some rumors are saying, or going to the Mediterranean(or other places we arent interested in), we wont be doing it after all. In that case Im pretty sure I want to do the 4 night cruise.

So, my question is would you book the 4 night now, and then transfer the deposit to a 7 night cruise when the itinerary comes out if its something we want, or would you just wait to find out whats going on with the 7 day before booking anything? Would booking the 4 night, then transfering it to a 7 night be too much to ask of a travel agent? I hate to drive my DU agent crazy. ;)

They can't make us wait much longer.

Like you, I wouldn't want to sail out of California or to the Mediterranian. So we're just waiting to see what happens.

If you're willing to take a 4 night instead of a 7, I don't think there's any rush to book. We're still 18 mos from July/Aug '05. I'm willing to bet the vacancies and the early booking savings will still be there when the summer '05 mystery is finally solved. Then we can consider our options and book without the trouble of transferring anything.

I would book now, because if you end up with the 4-night, the best price you're going to get for it is right now. If you transfer the deposit to the 7-night later, I don't think the travel agent would mind, as that would compute to a larger commission for them.

I'd love to see the Magic out here next year, but remain very skeptical, seeing as they don't have any trouble filling the ship out of Florida. If I had to guess, I'd say they're toying with new Caribbean ports for summer 2005, but I remain cautiously pessimistic about the west coast.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking of both your points and thats why Im so confused, LOL! I know the best price is now, but I also think(HOPE), they wont make us wait much longer to find out about these mystery cruises. ;)

And LLoyd, Im hoping for exactly what you said, new Carribean ports. :D
