Would you do EMH on your departure day?

MK is having early EMH on the date we depart. There's nothing I'd like more than have a few golden hours in our favorite park before we leave, but will it be too much hassle trying to "vacate" our room and storing our luggage so early in the morning? (We're flying and will need to catch the DME bus around 2:30.)

You know I hadn't even thought about this. I probably will. I guess it will depend on what time our departing flight is. Right now the departure time is 12:55 so I guess we probably won't get to. Maybe there will be a better flight when we get closer to booking.

if you are early risers and are a pretty organized group - this would totally work and we will likely do the same thing.

the night before take the time to pack up everything except the things you will need for the next AM and the flight back. get your tickets and other important paperwork checked and ready.

Get up very early and get everyone ready, then pack up the rest of your stuff. go to main lobby, check out (do they have an express check out over the room phone?) they will hold your luggage at the front desk while you go to the park.

hit the park as early as possible and get in a a few EMH attraction. cut out of the park at 12:30-1 at the latest and get back to the resort for that 2:30 pick up.

will the kids likely be tired because of the early rise? yep, but in our theory - they can sleep on the flight.

I don't know if the POFQ offers this, but when we stayed at the Beach Club last month, we were able to check our bags in our hotel to send them directly to the plane...so we only had to get on the bus when it showed up.

I'm not sure if they would let you, but you could always call DME and see if they would pick you up at a different resort than yours, say...the Poly. You could go to MK for the morning, then monorail over to the Poly and catch the bus...that would be nice...or if you had to bus back to POFQ I would still say it is worthwhile.

If I could go to the MK right now for 3 hours at the expense of a little luggage shuffling, I would definately do it!

In September we did EMH the morning we were leaving. We packed up everything the night before and had bell services pick up our luggage that morning and store it. We headed to the park, spent a few hours and when it started to get really hot and really crowded we went back to the CR where we had a nice lunch at the Concourse Steakhouse, we did some last minute shopping and took a ride on the boat from the CR to the WL to check out that resort. Our flight wasn't until that evening and ME picked us up at about 4:30, so we had plenty of time to kill. Keep in mind, ME picks you up about 3 hours before your scheduled flight.

We always go to a park day of departure also. Pack everything up the night before, have the morning stuff out and then pack that up. Check luggage at Bell or if your airline participates at the front desk check in do that. Enjoy as much of the park as you can give your self 45 minutes to leave park and get back to front in case you need to get stored luggage out. ME bus has always been on time for our airport pick up.

Everyone seems to be on the same page :) . Pack everything, and I mean everything you can the night before. Lay out the kids clothes. I would go as far as having the adults shower the night before to avoid bottlenecks in the bathroom in the morning. I have been guilty of bad night before planning and have come very close to missing flights. If you need bell service, make sure one of you gets up extra early to make the call. It's great to have one last Disney Blast, provided your group has the stamina and you don't find yourself in the position of forcing a group of unmotivated people out of bed. If everyone is on board, morning EMH is very doable and a great treat on departure day.

Go for it!!! If you are flying on a 'participating airline' you can check your bags right at your resort and get your boarding passes at the same time. If you aren't flying one of those airlines, just leave your bags with the bell services folks. I am always packed up the night before. Hate packing on the day we have to leave. If we have an early pickup, either DME or a towncar, before noon, then we don't do a park. We just have a nice breakfast, usually a character meal and then hang at the resort. But, if we aren't leaving for the airport until 2ish, then it's off to a park for us!!! Plan on about an hour to get back to the resort...yes, sometimes that's too much time but better safe than sorry!!! Then you'll need about 20 minutes to retrieve your luggage and get it to the bus area.

I am going to try...and my bus leaves at 12:30.

I know we can make it to the MK by 8 am, my problem is getting everything done the night before and the bags sent down for check in at the resort. Last year, I was a mess, and we almost missed our bus.

This year, I'm planning ahead, and hopefully, we will be able to get in 3 hours or so before we leave.

Well, we might try this. The day before we leave I have built in some "down time" solely for packing. Our flight doesn't leave until 5:45p so we shouldn't have to catch the DME bus until around 2:30. That should give us a fairly decent amount of park time.

Will bell services come to the room to pick up our luggage and store it, or do we have to carry it to the lobby ourselves? We're at POFQ.
