Would you do a 3 day trip?

We just got back from 9 nights at DW in Sept. We have another long trip booked in June. I just found out my girls are off school on Jan 25th. I'm seriously debating calling to see if there's a room available for Sat/Sun/Mon (we'd come in Friday night most likely). That would give us two nights in the parks and almost 3 days. I've got the points left (in fact they need used). I'm guessing crowds would be low, and the temps would be much better than in Ohio. Our girls are 6 and 7, and it would be our 5th trip so it wouldn't be commando per say. FWIW - we have APs so the only cost would be flights and food.

If I could get a good rate on a flight I'd definitely do it. Weekend trips help me get through the winter!

Absolutely !! In fact, we have 2 - 3 day trips planned in 2010. Gives us a chance to enjoy the magic without using our precious vacation days. Plus allows our DD not to miss school.

I agree - more often than not, our trips are long weekends of 3-4 nights. And you are right, when you have AP's you don't have to feel rushed or pressured. Go for it! Hope you find availability : )

I'm here now on a 3 day trip. Having APs and DVC allows you to rethink how you do the parks and enjoy the resort.

Good Luck and have a good time!

We prefer longer vacations. By the time you get there, check in and unpack, get a feel for what's going on a day is gone. Same thing on the day we leave.

DH and I do 3 night stays often, and we enjoy them. However, with children, I think I would only attempt them if we could get direct flights. Do you fly direct to MCO?

We have done several short trips and have enjoyed everyone. Some of our more memorial trips are the short ones :goodvibes

WDW is the perfect venue for a long week-end. If I can afford it, planning little 3 - 4 day get aways rejuvinates us in anticipation of summer or longer vacations. Kids are off from 2/11 to 2/15 so we're going to Disney! Spring Break at Disney freaks me out, too many people, long lines, I can't do it. I thought Feb was the perfect time to beat the heat and the crowds! A nice break till we go again for the week in June.

My DD and I did one last year and loved it. I would do one in a heart beat but would try to get low airline fares when I could just to keep costs down.

If you can get a good price on flight and direct I'd definitely go for it :thumbsup2. Our family has done some short trips & even though we don't get to experience as much as longer trips, we still get in a good deal of fun - we don't try to over do it to avoid ending up feeling stressed out and tired.

I'd keep things at a relaxing pace; ita with not doing parks commando-style, you'll still get to do alot of attractions anyway because of low crowds. And also I'd think this is good opportunity to check out some of the activities each day at various DVC Community Halls.

Good luck & sending pixie dust that there's availability when you call to book pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Most of our trips are long ones and those are the ones we prefer, BUT we have taken 4-5 night trips too and always have a great time. In fact we did one 3 night trip with my son a few years ago (very last minute trip, but circumstances were right) and he still talks about it!!! We packed a lot into three days and it was just my husband, son and me. Sometimes the last minute quick, short trips can be very memorable. I say go for it!!

Enjoy The Magic!!
