Would you do 2 days at Hollywood Studios or MK?

I can’t decide which one to make 2 days. We have decided to go to the parks 5 days. We usually go to MK twice, but with Hollywood studios having so many new rides and a new land I’m thinking 2 there. It will be 2 adults with no kids.
We go every year, but was not there when Star Wars land opened. So we haven’t rode those rides plus the new Run Away Railroad.
Magic Kingdom has always been our favorite park.
We are not big Star War fans, but always love to try out anything new at Disney.
Will It take 2 days for HS?
Another thing I have considered is we are staying at CBR so it will be easier getting to HS with the skyliner. I have read getting to and from MK from CBR can be a pain.

It has never taken me a whole day to go through HS w/out young kids. My daughter, 14, and I went earlier this February. We arrived at 7 and were done by 2. We could have left around noon but had an ADR that we were looking forward to.

Also depends on crowd levels! MK has always been a 2-day for us :) ENJOY your time whichever you decide <3

That is really up to how you tour the parks. We always do PHs and have never in over 30 years of going spent an entire day in one park. Having said that, if I had to choose, I'd probably do HS. MK is a half day park for us (two adults mother and son). We might hop over there at some point after we have done it on another day to do some shopping or something but never spend more than 4 hours there. I would probably do one full day at HS then maybe a half day with half resort/pool day or even a half day exploring other resorts.

I agree...if you're going to have hoppers you could maybe split it; but otherwise MK is much more of a 2 or 3 day park while DHS is 1 for us.

Personally, I would choose HS but it is my family's favorite park. We love the environment, the rides, and the new areas. The additions they have made are fantastic and definitely worth a look if you haven't seen them.

In general, however, I still think that MK would be the better choice for two days. There are many more attractions in the park and it is pretty much impossible to cover everything in one day. I just feel like you would get the most value for your dollar there with a larger variety of experiences.

Hi, we also travel as 2 adults no kids, but we usually do Epcot twice. I usually do 5 park tickets no park hopper. We find we spend open to close at every park but Hollywood Studios (BEFORE Galaxy's Edge opened). We haven't been to Galaxy's Edge. Because we haven't, our next trip we have 6 tickets, two of which are going to Hollywood Studios for a day and a half. We plan on taking a half a day to just explore Star Wars and the new rides (I'm a big Star Wars fan and I want to just be there) and the other day to do all of Hollywood Studios including more Galaxy's Edge. Again, I'm a big Star Wars fan so this is a big deal to me, we plan on building Lightsabers as well. I can't really answer this in terms of which is more worth it, because I haven't experienced Galaxy's Edge, but we personally will always do our favorite park twice (Epcot). This is why we got 6 tickets, so we can do Epcot twice but let me be a big kid at Galaxy's Edge.

I can easily do 2 days open to close at HS but you can tell what I love. When we go again in 2021 I am planning on one full day just for Star Wars.

Personally I would choose MK. you will be able to enjoy many more rides and sites. Yes Hollywood has many new lands and rides but most of your day will be standing inline if you do not have a fast pass.

We were in this predicament on our trip last fall. We initially planned for 2 days at HS thinking we would need the time to see everything. Our first HS day was arrival day (we arrived at the park a little after 12). We got through everything we wanted- TSMM, RNRC, TOT, ASwS, SDD, MFSR, and some shows (we went before ROTR opened) plus 2 ADR (HBD & Oga's Cantina) in time to see JBJB. Once we got back to the room at the end of the night we knew that we didn't need a 2nd day, so we dropped all of our HS FPs for that 2nd day and grabbed some stuff at MK. It worked out great for us. That day in MK we ended up getting like 5 or 6 FPs (and that includes a long midday break when we hopped over to Epcot for F&W).

It is easier to get good fast passes for Magic Kingdom. If you only care about seeing all things new at HS, and can forgo getting the good fast passes, you could conceivably wait in line for Smuggler's Run, MMRR, TSMM, and get there early enough to get a RotR boarding pass. Other rides/experiences, even ToT and RNRC are easier to get. Many people are reporting no Tier 1 FP's at HS are available until 60+5 or later. We lucked into a Smuggler's Run one and TSMM at 60+1, because I stalked to MDE app. There's always that.

MK is almost always a two day park for us. We usually do it our first and last day. However, this summer (If our trip isn’t cancelled) we are planning on leaving our last park day as a “floating day” and either go to HS or MK depending on how our fastpass bookings go and how much we get done in the parks prior to our last day.

Some of this may depend on how RotR is working. If that is important and they are still running the virtual queue where you need to be in the park when it opens and it is possible you may not get a slot if they run out, then you may want to count on 2 days at HS to maximize your chances. Then again, we don't know what the FP/virtual queue may look like at any of the rides so you may want to understand that process before making a decision. With so much uncertainty it is making it difficult to plan at all.

When are you going? Will you have parkhoppers? If so, 1 1/2 days at each might work depending again on the FP situation.

In the end, you'll just have to decide which one has the more important "must do" rides and experiences and prioritize that. Sorry that's not much help.

Leaving your last day a floating day is a good idea. Probably wouldn’t get tier 1 rides, but still a good idea.

We are going the beginning of August and with base tickets.

I’d make FPs at HS for two days. If you don’t end up wanting to go back the second day because you got everything done on your first HS, it’s easier to get more FPs at MK.
Oh that’s a good idea! Definitely easier to switch FP to MK.

Two adults with no kids I say do a good long day at MK and two days at HS! Even though there are far more rides at MK, there are more big thrills at HS. From so many people I hear it's a half day park....for me it could quite possibly go from being my number four to my number one with recent additions over the past few years.
