Would you consider HS a full or half day park currently?

HS has always been a full day for our family and it will be again next month. With the rides, shows, character m&gs and 50's prime time for lunch then sci-fi for dinner and the Star Wars desert party.... lol yes full day for us. Absolutely love riding RNR coaster and TOT then TSMM.

Back when it used to have lots of attractions open it was a full-day park for me, but with so much gone now, it's down to about a three-hour stop. Lunch at Sci-Fi, ride Toy Story Midway Mania, stroll through One Man's Dream (soon to be Walt Disney Presents), and I'm done. I'm not a Star Wars fan, so YMMV.

As it is now, I'd say unless you're basically interested in just about everything in the park it's a half day park

The last time we visited we went to the park to see the Osborn lights one last time. We arrived at about 3 and rode Star Tours and Toy Story Mania and the Great Movie Ride :( and saw the Muppets show and we were done. As a new visitor I would add the Indiana Jones stunt show, Tower of Terror and the RocknRoller Coaster. The Beauty and the Beast show and Little Mermaid are fine too.

If you like Meet and Greets those can eat a lot of time too. It's something to keep in mind.

DHS is like the other 3 Parks-there is plenty to do fill up a full-day(and then some)-it is just a matter of how much of what is offered a Guest wants to do.:)

I've never liked the term "half-day Park"-that gives the "impression" that if a Guest does EVERYTHING in that Park they will be through in a "half-day".

JMHO.:)

For us its a half day park. My kids are too little to really appreciate the star wars stuff and they cant ride RNR or Tower of Terror.

Even when dh and I went by ourselves it was a half day park. We rope dropped and by mid-day we had done pretty much everything we were interested in.

For us, its a half day, or slightly more than half day park. IMHO, if it wasn't for the fact that my daughter loves DHS, we would skip it on our next trip. We've met all the characters that my daughter wanted to meet, and besides ToT and RnRC, we've done everything in the park.

For us, here's what we'll do on our next trip:

TSMM
Star Tours
Frozen Sing Along
Muppets show
Indiana Jones show
Beauty & the Beast show

We'll try to do TSMM and Star Tours a couple of times. But that's it.

I consider it a "let's skip it" park. If you had a park hopper, I'd stop by for a few rides and a table service meal or Starring Rolls and leave.

First timers might get a full day of it. For us - it's a 2 - 3 hour park. ToT, RnRC, Star Tours, possibly Muppet Show.

If you go see all of the shows (which I would recommend if you've never seen them before), it can easily eat up an entire day. Many people say it is only a 1/2 day park because they don't go see all of the shows every time. Most of the shows don't change, so for repeat visitors, they just don't care to go see the same show again. I think they are all worth seeing at least once. :thumbsup2

Also, HS has some fun street performers (Citizens of Hollywood) that pop out throughout the day that are fun to watch.

Have a great trip!

It is true that there are only four RIDES now in HS: Rock & Roller Coaster, Star Tours, Tower of Terror, and Toy Story Mania. IMO, these are four of the best rides in all of WDW. I believe that quite a few PP agree with me, although some do not like thrill rides.
If I am touring alone, I want to see the following shows: Beauty & the Beast, Frozen Sing Along (this is new since last time I was there), Indiana Jones, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Muppet Vision 3D, One Mans Dream, Fantasmic, Star Wars Fireworks (this is also new for me, and I'm not sure if you can see this and Fantasmic). First Order March (also new) and Jedi Training are/seem to be the type of shows that I would watch if I happen to be in the right place at the right time. DW and I watched Jedi Training while in line for Star Tours.
I realize that there are some shows I have not mentioned, which I may or may not see. I have only listed the ones that I WANT to see myself. Certainly if you have small children I think they should have the chance to see Disney Junior, for example, but unless I have a small child in the party it isn't at the top of my list.
50s Prime Time is probably my favorite restaurant in WDW if I had to pick only one (but I have several favorites so I don't want to pick only one). I am looking forward to trying Sci Fi Dine this year. The last time I was there, HS was the only park to approach Epcot on dining from a FOOD perspective. I understand that MK and AK have made progress in this area.
HS is and has always been primarily a SHOW park rather than a RIDE park. In fact, the only two rides that have closed are Backlot Tour and Great Movie Ride. I never skipped either. I considered Great Movie Ride one of my favorites. Yet cutting from six rides to four IMO is not enough to reduce a "full day park" to a "half day park". If you have never been to WDW, or if you haven't been for awhile, there is plenty to do at HS. People who don't like shows, or who have seen these shows and don't want to see them again, may find little to do here. If you know what you like, you know what you want to do. If you are really new, don't overlook this park.

Half day, and it kills me because I love a lot of the attractions at this park. I went the last weekend of Great Movie Ride with my nephew, we got there at about noon, did everything we wanted (including a meal at Sci-Fi, a visit to every gift shop in the park and the Indiana Jones stunt show) and ran out of things to do at around 6:00pm, we opted to go check out Pandora at Animal Kingdom instead of trying to wander around HS waiting for the Star Wars fireworks.

Two hours and I'm done. I remember the very first time I went to DHS: ropedrop, done by noon

half day. we like the early magic hours when it's available. we pretty much rode and saw most of everything by 2pm.

we do come back later that evening for Fire works and stuff.

How do you find the early magic hours for DHS? Are you able to ride TSM multiple times? (One morning at California adventure we did that instead of cars land and probably rode it ten times in the hour... I think you couldn't even come close to that in Florida...)

We are a re-ride kind of family so would probably stay most of the day. We don't do m&g's either. Star Tours has 3 or 4 different versions so we would do that multiple times. And go see the preview for whatever Disney movie is upcoming.
And one of the fireworks shows... probably Star Wars. And we ate at Italian sit down place (Mama Della's?) and loved it. I had the saltimboca and it's the best thing I ever ate.
We loved it when we had a young child- we still do!

I think it REALLY depends on how old your kids are and what their interests are/what movies they've seen.

Last time we went, our boys were six, had never seen Star Wars or Indiana Jones and had only passing interest in the Princess stuff. We rode TSMM, saw the Disney Jr. Show, had lunch at the the place where you meet the characters (Primetime?) and my husband rode RNR. Oh, and we saw the stunt car show which no longer exists. Half-day at best, although the car show forced us to stay longer.

This year the boys are eight, and one is much more into the Princess stuff, especially Frozen. Still have only seen one StarWars and weren't impressed, and still haven't seen Indiana Jones. I have FP for TSMM, Frozen SingALong and StarTours, all before two and we don't plan on arriving until close to ten. We may also see the Beauty and the Beast show as that one boy also loves that recently, and I'm sure my husband will dash off again to ride RNR single-rider.

If you have Princess-crazy girls or StarWars-crazy boys, then I can see it stretching to a full day to see all the associated shows. Or if you have older kids who ride all the rides. Otherwise? Nope.

We did 4 open to close days there so.... ummm...I'm going to have to go with full. Now, Epcot is barely a 1/2 day for us.
