Would you choose Chef Mickey's or O'Hana for dinner?

:wave2: Hi all,
I'm making the PS arrangements for our upcoming trip and would love some opinions on dinner for our last full night. We have three adults and one 5 y.o. boy in our party. Here are the meals I have booked so far:

dinner - Crystal Palace
dinner - Garden Grill
dinner - Hollywood and Vine
dinner - Rainforest Cafe
Garden View Tea -- just the women
dinner- Chef Mickey's
breakfast - 1900 Park Fare (need to book this today) -- This meal will be on our way to the airport.

I'm thinking of changing the Chef Mickey's dinner to dinner at O'Hana. This will be for our last full day but it won't be a park day unless we have to switch the schedule around for some reason. We have been to Chef Mickey's before and although it was a lot of fun, I wonder if we will be sick of buffets by the end of the trip. We will also see Mickey at Garden Grill.

I have never been to the Poly and don't know much about the dinner at O'hana other than what is on the menu. What's it like there? Any advice and opinions are appreciated :sunny: .

Since you will have already seen Mickey (at a great meal with a great setting) I would go with Ohana. We love Ohana. The food is fantasic and the atmosphere is so much fun! It's one of our "must do" meals on every trip.

We've done Chef Mickey's many times, as well. Honestly we find the food at dinner to bland, picked over, cold, etc. The characters are fun and the setting is great, but the food is always just plain yucky. We try it again every few trips hoping it will get better, but it doesn't. We do enjoy breakfast there, though.

If you are already going to have a Mickey interaction I would suggest going with O'Hanas. We had a great meal there this past July.

O'hannas.

It is a great choice. The food is delicious and the theme is fun. We tend to burn out on character meals after more than two on a trip.

Enjoy.

Another vote for Ohana. I have to agree with the other posters. You already have quite a few character meals. I'd do something different.

I'm going with the majority here - Ohana's. Your 5 year old will love the hula hooping & coconut sweeping! It's so much fun to watch the kids getting involved.
Plus, the food is better.....

Another vote for 'Ohana. Our favorite place and our kids love it too. The young man in your party can order a kid's meal if it doesn't seem like he will eat the other food. Kid's can get chicken fingers, hot dog or hamburger, etc. Make sure he participates in the coconut races and waits for the prize. It is a handful of gummy worms!

You get pineapple and caramel dipping sauce for dessert (included in the meal), but the other desserts here are spectacular. The food is well worth the trip and the fun and games and atmosphere are a bonus!

If we go by the information you have provided, it appears you gave us the answer when you said you have already been to Chef Mickey's in the past and you dislike the typical buffets to end a trip.

Ohana will be a fresh and new experience at the conclusion of your great trip. The atmoshere and food should make everyone very happy, along with new memories.::yes::

I would definitely do O'Hana's over Chef Mickey's any day!! I had dinner at Chef Mickey's on my last trip and it was the worst meal I have ever had on property. Total waste of money. Breakfast is great, but dinner is awful!

dinner - Crystal Palace -- Excellent!!!
dinner - Garden Grill -- Good
dinner - Hollywood and Vine -- Never done, but would recommend 50's Primetime (excellent)
dinner - Rainforest Cafe -- Did not care for it the last time
Garden View Tea -- just the women
dinner- Chef Mickey's -- WORST Meal on property!! Totally not worth the money for dinner.
breakfast - 1900 Park Fare (need to book this today) -- This meal will be on our way to the airport. -- I would do Chef Mickey's for breakfast instead.

:D Thanks so much for the opinions everyone. I switched it to 'Ohana tonight :teeth: . I also booked Chef Mickey's for our final breakfast before we hit the airport. I know DS would really love to see Mary Poppins so I booked the 1900 Park Fare breakfast for our first morning. We may be buffeted and chararcter mealed out by the end of this trip but we probably won't be back for a few years and by then my DS may be over characters. Besides, we have two weeks so they will be spread out pretty well.

Now I just can't wait for November/December to get here :Pinkbounc :bounce: !

Terk-1,
I wish we could do 50's Prime Time too but unfortunately I couldn't do the Fantasmic Dinner Package with it. I really wanted to see my DH have to stand in the corner for not eating his veggies ;) .

Thats a tough one for us but in a pinch and with other character meals booked we would probably pick Ohana. My teens love it there and we really enjoyed it as well. OTOH we also have a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old and we love to see them with the characters.
I enjoy the food more at Ohana's and the atmosphere at both is really fun.

'Ohana
O'Hana
Ohana
O'hannas
O'Hanas

This thread is too funny ::yes:: .

No matter how you spell it, 'that place' is a great place to eat!

I just dumped my PS at Chef Mickey's, we needed a chaarcter meal that night and I couldn't get 1900 Park Fare but I did get Garden Grill. I think I will check back on 1900 when we arrive.... and I will talk to dh about adding O'hana's one night too.

Thanks guys!
