If you have your rooms booked and the view you wanted, would you changes your dates to save a few hundred (probably $300 ) to fly mid week. IF one of your dates in the middle of the week would have to be wait listed. I am 4 months out and would sure like that money to spend on vacation, not on the flight. WWYD???

I've done this several times. Now I just automatically plan to book arrival on Tues or Weds so that I'm not changing plans to get cheaper flights later on. I would switch and waitlist.

Three hundred dollars would not make me change the dates. (Perhaps at a five hundred or more price difference; might motivate me.)

At four months out, I would not rely on a wait list request to come through...especially if it was in the middle of my stay. It might come through, but what would you do if it didn't? Chalk it up to a learning experience and enjoy your vacation.

What's worse, not getting the room/view that you want or paying the extra money? I guess it depends on your bank account and how often you vacation.

For us, owning for so long the resort and view are more important than the parks or the money.

I wouldn't chance a wait listed day in the middle of my vacation .....if it was the first or last night I'd consider it

No, I wouldn't want to try to get a waitlist date that close. I'd probably keep the tickets and learn from now on that airfares are usually cheapest mid week. That's why we usually plan to arrive on a Wednesday or Thursday.

If my dates were available then I would switch. Since you would have to waitlist, I wouldn't do it. To me the risk would be far greater than the reward.

If you would really like to save the money I would either consider another room or resort that is available or keep checking the fares to see if they go down for your dates.

I'll go with, "I couldn't do it." My vacation dates (due to work) are set far in advance and the coordination with the schedules of all the vacation and work parties makes last minute changes impossible. I look forward to the day when I can be spontaneous.

Well I did it and MS put me on hold, she said she thought they could make it work after about a five min. wait she came back on and told me that all my date were available. Soooo happy i don't have to wait list.
