Would you buy a DVC Annual Pass without park hopping?

Do you think they've suspended AP sales mostly because they are, by default, park hoppers? Would you buy a new type of DVC non-Park hopping AP if one were introduced, even in the future when COVID is no longer a factor? I would. It is very rare for me to park hop or leave a park once I'm there. And, I think for DVCers, at least right now, it would be nice to have that type of ticket available, since many of us have more than one stay scheduled. It could have all the rest of the regular benefits, just no park hopping. Right now, I have a January 2021 reservation, and am planning a 10 person trip for Thanksgiving 2021, so an AP, without hopping, would work for me.

I guess the cynic in me thinks that your non park hopper would remain at the current full AP price and they would charge more for park hopping.

Um, NO! We park hop everyday. We own at BCV and usually spend every evening at Epcot. Oh how I miss that.

I would be OK with buying an AP with no park hopping as long as park hopping is activated once it's allowed again.

I mean, that's basically what my brand new Gold AP is since it's not activated yet. I wouldn't buy a new one like that though.

Yes. I would buy one because now that I will be going as much as I hope to be it is still a great value.

But I do think part of why they stopped it was because of limitations not only of park hopping but also limits on how many days one can hold at a time for park reservations.

Need to have access to Epcot for lunch/dinner when back at BWV. Those who are at BCV and RIV also I would assume would want park hopping for this as well.

I have not bought direct yet and honestly without a park hopping AP option (even with limitations) it would be worthless. I would stick to resale only if that is the AP option moving forward.

I don’t park hop but I’ve bought multiple APs with no intention of hopping. So, yes. I have and I will.

If APs were crippled with no way to park hop, we would seriously re-evaluate our entire vacationing habits at WDW and Disney in general. 9 days of it during our trip a couple of weeks ago almost drove us crazy regardless the park hours. We don't LIKE going to one park a day. If you are on a once-in-a-lifetime trip, I could see how this wouldn't bother you, but for us, we habitually do 2 and sometimes 3 parks each and every day of our trips. It is part and parcel of why we even enjoy going so much.

I would seriously probably cash out completely and invest in another timeshare with other travel options.

We would still get the AP’s, but it would mean less eating at Epcot. That’s the park that has the restaurants we enjoy the most.

As a sidebar, I see no reason for this to be forthcoming whatsoever. AP park hoppers are one of the great balancing acts of the parks. It also helps in moving money around to where it wants to be spent. IMO, it'll never happen, and even if it did, whoever did it would be tarred, feathered and fired in < 6 months.

Honestly if anything changes it should simply be the AP only is active when staying at WDW and have it discounted further because of the exception.

Yes, I would. We only buy APs if we're planning 2 trips within a year, so it would still save us money, especially with current prices. We don't hop often...more likely if we're staying at BWV.

Absolutely. I can’t remember the last time we hopped. We have been there enough so rope drops and park hopping is a thing of the past. Plus it wastes a bunch of time. We usually just go into the parks for a few hours anyway.

Having a hopper AP and a non-hopper AP would be a good option—- something for everyone.

One further thought what would this solve for? They are selling park hoppers next year.

Are we just thinking park hopping would be an add on charge?

Seems like they could just put in terms that it might not always be available and possibly restrict numbers of park hoppers per park that can be reserved but need to be used within 1 hr or your reservation expires and goes to someone on the wait list almost like a boarding group.
