Yes.

I think it'd be great to work for Disney.

Of course I'd want to be on the creative/engineering side, but I'd like to think I'd do anything to get started.

To make the magic, now that's an idea!

Been there, done that, and to be honest...you don't want to know what goes on in the inside.

Maybe I can only speak for management within TDS that I worked in, but I just don't feel like Disney always gives its employees the fair treatment.

I definitely lost some of the magic I once felt for Disney as a company.

I would love to work for Disney. But I would have to work in the software side of the business.

Well let's see I was a CM/CP for 7 months and instead of ruining the magic for me, it made it even more special. I loved seeing the inner workings of the company and seeing alot of things most people never get to experience. I loved being totally immersed in the magic and being able to spread it around. If I had it to do over again the only thing I would change would be where I worked. I vow never to work fast food again if i can help it.

No, from what I hear they don't get paid much for what they do, and I think that they probably have to deal with a lot more crabby people tired from long trips and tired children than we imagine, not to mention the people that expect perfection because they are at Disney.

I have talked to a few staff at RPR at Universal and they said that Disney doesn't pay much. I think I would want to work for Universal until Disney starts showing that they really care about their customers and their employees.

Supply and Demand.

The more people who want to work at Disney the less they have to pay.

Yes, I want to be Mickey Mouse! I'm just a little to tall though, all my life I've been too short for most things except the one thing I'd love to do... That would be my dream job, second dream job-being a moderator on the DIS. :hyper:

IF I was independently wealthy, I would LOVE to be a CM. But, I don't think I'd want to do ALL the stuff the CM's do. I don't think I would like to work with food. I would really like to be a character handler or something. I'm short, maybe I could be one of Snow White's friends????!!!

Did it once, did it twice, did it a third time, would do it again if I qualified for a job that paid enough

Only if I could be Cinderella! Get paid to wear a ball gown and ride in a carriage and wave in the parade...acting like I owned the place! SURE!!! Sign me up!

Alas..I don't think they are looking for a 37 year old, Pooh sized, mother of two for the part. :crazy2:

But I can dream!

I tell my DH all the time that when I retire I want to move to Orlando and get a job loading the boats at IASW. I figure there can't be too much competition to stand around listening to that song all day long!

My biggest dream?? To be Cruella!! No princesses for me. Don't think I could be that nice and sweet to whining, sniveling kids all day. But to be Cruella. Now, that's a job. You get to be mean and nasty all day. They wouldn't even have to pay me!!! After working in retail for so many years, and being pretty good at it, it would be a nice change of pace.

Would I be a CM? Only if I could drive the monorail or the boats in Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. :teeth:

The low pay, the 365 day a year schedule (that means working Christmas day, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, 4th of July), crazy night schedules.. I would probably not.

However, if a professional position opened up, that I was qualified for I would do it.

Years ago, (maybe 5), my DH interviewed for a LAN administrator position within the Magic Kingdom. The responsibilities sounded interesting, the interaction sounded wonderful, but the pay was lower...much lower than anticipated.

He did get to the 2nd interview stage, and he got another offer from another company.

I'd have to say no thank you. :( Reason being, if I was a CM I'd fear that WDW would no longer be special or magical.

Yes but I have a very specific job in mind. I would want to work with handicapped children and others in wheelchairs. Only once when I've been at WDW have I had the pleasure of talking to a CM in a wheelchair. She was working in one of the stores at MGM. I even contacted upper management to sing her praises! The corporate woman I talked to during that conversation told me that they don't have too many wheelchair CM's because people have complained that it takes away from the "Magic"

I suppose they might feel different if they were looking the person right in the eye.

I enojyed being a CM (actually a CP). Yes, it paid very little, but hey, I was a college student, so what did I care? I actually would like to go back if DH ever gets stationed near enough, since we don't depend on my income. Working there definitely makes the magic different, and yes, some of you guests are just awful! (Please, keep off the snow at Blizzard Beach!) But it's fun!

Yes, I would love to Make the Magic I try to assist other guest, as most of us do...My family has said for years Disney should pay you, I worked for years at a large Company and told everyone when I retire I'm going to WDW and be the Fairy Godmother.

I actually would not want to work for Walt Disney World. I would worry that working there might take away from it being my favorite place to escape.
