Would we be absolutely insane to bring our Graco?

Take whatever you are comfortable carrying. My DH and I went around and around about doubles and have taken 3 different types to WDW. We had a really hard time with our tandem that was similar to the GDG. The kid in front was always bent in 1/2 trying to nod off, :sad1: .

We don't ride anything but boats and monorails not really anything to do with the strollers but DH loathes the loading and unloading. Most other transportation you can wheel it right on whatever you choose to use for a stroller.

That said having taken 3 comepletely different doubles and somewhere around 8 different singles to WDW no way would I take something that heavy and cumbersome. We have had to streamline I hate that can't get it turned, sorry i rolled over that 6 year old you threw in front of my ginormous tandem so you could leave the MK 2.5 seconds sooner than the rest of cattle feeling. I hate clipping people and those long strollers make it hard to see at night how much clearance you have and so many people just walk in front of you then throw you a horrible look for running them over. I soooooo don't get that, like I tell DH for the love of pete could i be any bigger?

To the OP, you'll want to practice at home removing the kids, folding up the stroller and trying to get on the bus with one, two or three sleeping or sleepy children, try to manage the stroller AND still manage all the stuff you are bound to have on the stroller (diaper bag, small cooler, etc). If you think you can manage (and you should practice not getting a seat, but having to stand with the three children, your stuff and your stroller), then bring the stroller. If it seems unmanageble, you'll have to rethink your plans.

One tip, if you don't leave for the theme park right when it opens, but a little after and you plan on leaving a long time before closing, you should be able to get on a bus that isn't so crowded.

Have a nice trip and good luck.

A few of you have mentioned carrying sleeping kids AND my stroller on the bus......so my Graco double is a little heavier, but I don't get how it would be easier to handle sleeping kids and a stroller just because the stroller was lighter.....:confused3:confused3

You know, it's really sad - I have never encountered more rudeness on the Internet than I have on the DIS boads....CRAZY! I belong to a political forum and people manage to handle themselves with more tact than people do here.....what ever happened to light-hearted debate? So to all of you who are SO passionate about what stroller I bring and how much it is going to affect your vacation - take a deep breath, relax, hug your kids/spouse/dog, and remember their are bigger things in the world......

Some of the lighter weight strollers are also more compact when they are closed and may be easier to manage if you have stuff and sleepy kids to handle. The bulkier the stroller, the more you have to keep from hitting other guests on the bus with the stroller and try to keep the walkway open. You can't keep your stroller open up on the bus; it must be emptied and closed.

I know we used an umbrella stroller way back when and just having the hook at the end of the handle, we could loop it over our arm and still manage our son and stuff.

I have a graco double stroller but will be leaving it at home as it is, in my opinion, harder to move in large crowds. I will most likely be renting a double stroller from orlando stroller rentals. I would have liked to rent one from disney and left it at the park but they are soooo expensive. I feel like I am entitled to use it just like someone who needs a wheelchair or scooter. As a child/teen I can remember being hit from behind by numerous strollers or had to squeeze on a bus with someone with a bulky stroller and I may have been a little annoyed but I never would have thought that they shouldn't have had them or that they needed to rent a car. I am not trying to bring the "suv" of all strollers because it looks good but because it is comfortable for my two young children. If I want to push around a big bulky stroller then that is MY choice.

I give up, I can't keep up with the sarcastic posts on this thread so I'm closing it.
