Would WDW Ever Do This?????

Set aside one night/month, as adults-only in the theme parks? Where you have to be 18 years old, or older to enter the parks. Maybe a weeknight, like Tues, Wed, or Thurs? Or they could rotate the parks....one month, one evening at MK, the next month, one evening at Epcot, etc. (don't think they could probably do that with AK though, since alot of things there are outside, you couldn't see them after dark).

Not for the entire day, just in the evening, maybe from 7pm-midnight. You wouldn't have to purchase a special/separate ticket, just use your regular park ticket or hopper pass.

I like kids as much as anyone, but I think it would be so cool to have just once in awhile to have the parks set-up for adults-only.

What's your opinion?

Disney is in business to make money. Will the people saying that the OP said that this was referring to a separate party that adults would pay for with a "hard ticket" please read the original post. It says "You wouldn't have to purchase special/separate ticket, just use your regular park ticket or hopper pass."

I LOVE these threads where everyone gets hysterical and hissy over an innocuous initial post! :rotfl2: SOOOOO entertaining...

I am the mom of 4. Personally, OP, I would probably NOT enjoy doing Disney without my kids, since watching them have fun is half of my fun. However, I bet if you ask me again in 10 years when they have all left for college, I might be on board with you!

I do not believe that Disney would ever have an adults only "day" at any parks. Disney makes a lot of their money from families with children, and it would be seen as an "un-Disney" thing to do. The only exception that I know of is Disney's Grad Nite celebrations, which happens after the park closes, and stays open all night for graduating seniors. They are only allowed to bring a chaperone over age 21 with them. An all night visit to the park would not appeal to most adults, so it probably wouldn't be done for anything other than grad nite.

I have 2 kids and while I love my kids more than anything else in this world, I would love to have a night at 1 of the parks without them. We went to Disney on our Honeymoon and we'd love to have a night to have some Mommy & Daddy time reminising a very magical time for us, without our kids, how is that so bad. I'd love to see Disney have an over 18 night. How is that any different than say us going out on a date. Disney would still make money - make it a Hard Ticket party, I think you'd be surprised how many would buy tickets, and then they'd have many more using the Kids Clubs that way. Or if you have Grandma with you, leave the kids with her, if you so choose. My kids are of the age that if they want to stay in the room and we go to dinner without them, we do. We do it all the time at home. We have the cell phone with us. They can always call us if they have an emergency, just like at home.

So, if anyone is taking count on the Yeas vs. the Nays, count us on the Yea side! We'd go!!!

On Wednesday, January 6th, 2010, Magic Kingdom closes at 8pm...for EVERYONE of ALL AGES. If Disney had an event, a hard ticket event, called "Party After Hours in Magic Kingdom" and it was for adults...and it was open from say 9pm to 2 am...where would the harm be?

Again...the park would be CLOSED ANYWAY. There would be NO ONE IN THERE. How is that POSSIBLY discrimination? How would that make poor Walt roll over in his grave? How would that possibly affect John, Mary and the 3 kids who flew all the way down from Iowa to bring their kids to Magic Kingdom and they now couldn't because DISNEY DISCRIMINATED AGAINST THEM?

Sometimes I wonder if people check their brains at the login screen when they surf the web...I mean Hitler??? The Holocaust???? Unreal.
I don't see how anyone could find this offensive. They could even have a 10-1 party at Epcot or something like that. Epcot is more adult-oriented anyway and they always close at 9 so where's the harm there.

Good point. :thumbsup2

So does the "Adventures by Disney" tour company.

We all need to boycott this entire nazi regime known as Disney.

I agree, and I think you should all do it right around July 8 - 18, 2010, so I can have the parks ALL TO MYSELF!

Too late my friend, you stuck with them till they at least 18:) All you can do is bite your lips till blood and count years:rotfl:
Sometimes, I think that's why people want everyone else to have kids-because misery loves company.:lmao: Just kidding..although, my best friend used to be married to a real D-bag. He'd father these kids but wanted almost zero part in interacting with them, raising them etc. He got mad with me one day because he called me early in the morning to see if i could babysit. But, he was going to be home, just wanted someone else to do the work. I don't answer the phone early in the morning anyway(work evenings), because I am able to sleep in and I loves my sleep.:cool1: Next time I saw him, he asked why do I sleep in on the weekends? My answer..."because I can".:rotfl2:

I don't hate kids, not in the least bit. But my parents didn't take us to certain events, restaurants until we were capable of knowing how to behave. My mom was very big on the whole manners thing and if she heard that one of us kids was at a friends house and acted like a fool, we would have been in deep doo-doo.:scared1:

I, myself, am stunned that not one poster has seen the obvious parallel between an adults only night and the coming of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Come on people, it's right there in front of you. Just connect the dots.
Four horsemen of the apocalypse, Disney Style..Instead of Pestilence, War, etc they'd have names like Double Booked ADR, Crowded Bus, Extra Long Standby Line and Brazilian Tour Group.;):upsidedow

Just got this from the WDW site. They are going to start having specialty nights afterall.

"Whatever" Wednesday-Must have a bad attitude to enter

Thirsty Thursday-Must be 21 to enter. TS=6 beers, CS=3 beers, Snack=1 beer

I joke with DH about this, I'd love to bring my dog, Jolie, to the Magic Kingdom - she'd chomp on those turkey legs like nobody's business! :rotfl2:

Funny! Me and DH talk about this too.....we would LOVE to walk our boys around the parks....and my Pom Taz would LOVE LOVE LOVE the monorail! LOL

They love going to WDW anyway...but the fireworks, NOT SO MUCH! They get scared when they hear them at the kennels! LOL:scared1:

That's funny!:rotfl:

The children's science museum here does this on the third Friday of every other month, and it's INCREDIBLY popular. Completely packed, sold out, etc. It's because this way the adults can play with all the exhibits without feeling bad about keeping the kids from them. But of course, at Disney World, there are very few things like that, where if one person is doing them someone else can't (Innoventions is the main exception, or the Kidcot stations I guess).

I would like to see them try it, but I think it would only work if there was another park open the same hours that evening, or if it was very late at night at a time the parks wouldn't normally be open (say 10 pm to 1 am).

I don't really see the problem. They close the parks early for events that not everyone can go to all the time. There was a day while we were there that the MK closed for MNSSHP at 7 pm, and the other parks' regular closing hours were 7 pm for the Studios, 5 pm for AK, and 8 pm for Epcot.

I see a *lot* of people here post *all the time* about "What can I do with my spouse/partner for an adults' night out and leave the kids with Grandma/in a kids' club?" So the people above who think that no adult would ever want to be without their kids at Disney are delusional.
