Would WDW Ever Do This?????

I can't see it happening, but if it did it wouldn't be what you're imagining. First of all, it would be a hard ticket. Disney isn't going to add an evening event out of the goodness of their hearts! Second, it would have to be held on a weekend, to attract locals in addition to vacationers. An after hours party on a Tuesday isn't going to have much appeal to people who have to work Wed., and I don't think there would be enough interest among vacationers alone to make the event profitable.

Wow... I am waiting for the next set of threads to start...

How about an exclusive night for people who are NOT handicapped?
Don't you just HATE those annoying wheelchairs???

How about a dedicated night excluding all senior citizens?
They move soooooooo slow! Let's not let them in if they are over 65.

How about a night where I get to "bounce" Disney World and only allow people in that I like?
Sorry ma'am, I don't like the way you looked at me. YOU don't get in tonight cause I say so. NEXT!

I believe Hitler had the same ideologies as this thread does.

Really? You really just compared an adults-only night to the Holocaust?

Seriously?

I didn't realize "adults only for a few hours" meant all children must be systematically murdered.

Hitler & "adults only" is the same ideology? I don't think so.

I thought Hitler wanted to control who could be a part of his world?

So, the idea of controlling who can be a part of Disney World is not the same basic principle?

And just because it's ONLY one night a month, year, etc. does not make it right.

If anyone is interested in this idea, why don't you go to the Gay Days only night? Maybe there won't be any children there, yes?
Or maybe having gays or lesbians around you that night would make you feel uncomfortable?

No, not the same basic principle at all. Not even close.

Disney ALREADY controls who can be "part of its world" by having ticket prices. (And expensive ones at that).

This is a sad thread. I notice that adults generally like pictures of children, but children don't seem to be very popular in real life. When someone tells me that they like children or anything else but then add the word "but," I know what is coming next. "But" is a very powerful word. It says "Never mind what I just said; now I am going to tell you how I really feel."
Disney was built so that families could have a good time together. What if someone came in here and suggested that only certain skin shades be allowed in the theme parks on certain days? The flames would be instantaneous. Why is it different to say that if someone is young they are inferior and unworthy of occupying the same park you do? I have met plenty of bratty adults, especially when they have been drinking a bit. Yet alcohol is allowed at Disney, and no one is calling for it to be banned. Which would you rather have next to you: a child in her Disney Princess getup, who might cry a bit, or a mean drunk?

You are taking this thread way tooooo seriously. It's just a thought. Obviously this would never happen. And not ONCE did I or anyone else say that 'someone who is young is inferior and unworthy of occupying the same park'. You are the only one who is saying that.

And just because I suggested an adults-only evening, in no way says that I don't like children. I have two grown children of my own, and love them dearly. Just because someone suggests an adults-only function, doesn't mean they don't like children.

You are being way too dramatic about this. Again, I don't think WDW would ever do this....it was just something to think about.

lol, the Hitler analogy kind of fits! Wasn't Walt anti-semitic?

There isn't anything wrong with having special events for different groups, imo. Didn't they let little kids in the MK early for a while last year?

Hmmm... How about comparing it to who can ride on the bus??? Or use the restroom at certain times of the day???

And YES, this is the same principle.:surfweb:

Then you were not the problem. A lot of children are not ready for a restaurant like V&A and the parents brought them anyway because THEY wanted to eat there. According to what I've heard from there, the parents would then demand typical children's meals, which were brought to them from another kitchen. Once they started getting the children's meals, it was either close the place down, remove the little kids or change to a family-oriented place. I'm glad they kept it. The other argument is that there's noplace at WDW for a non-family-oriented restaurant and it should be closed - I've heard that one before.

Now this I do agree with very much. The whole point of taking a child to a formal restaurant is that the child is learning to eat a formal meal. Insisting that Victoria And Albert's, or any other formal restaurant, change its menu to a food court menu is unreasonable.

It actually reminds me of a little one I felt sorry for while I was working retail in a tourist shop years ago. A little boy, barely old enough to talk, kept saying "Bye-bye Mama. Bye-bye Mama. Bye-bye Mama." He was in his mother's arms and was bored with his mother's shopping. He wanted to leave. I wondered where the father was because I was sure that the child would rather be outside but was too little to stay out there alone.

I prefer family entertainment for myself, even if I am alone. Given the choice between a Disney theme park and a bar, I will pick Disney every time. The lady with the well-mannered eight-year-old would be welcome to sit next to me at V & A's anytime. A child there against his or her will and wanting to run around would much rather be at McDonald's playground with chicken nuggets and no doubt feels abused in a formal restaurant.

Nope. No it's not. :surfweb:

If I try to use a bathroom that's closed an hour for cleaning, I'm not going to run around screaming Hitler at the cleaning woman for keeping me out.

So, when bars are restricted to those over 21 (or whatever age, depending on the country) or when V&A is limited to those over 10 (or is 10 and over?), they are acting like Hitler as well?

Good to know.

Way to minimalize the Holocaust.

Oh lord, tell me you took history class...

Ever heard of the civil-rights movement???

Instead of race discrimination, it is AGE discrimination. DO YOU GET IT NOW?!?!?

Seriously... I am done with this thread.

OMG, this thread took a turn for the worse. It was only meant to be a light-hearted, fun thread. Some of you are taking it way to seriously, and off into the wrong direction. Hitler? C'mon....what an exageration.

Now I remember why I don't usually start a thread on the dis boards. I should have known better.

gay days doesn't restrict kids.

what do you think they do on gay days at the park? turn it into a club?

Are you kidding me? That is nuts.

I have a bunch of kids, and I think it would be fun. :upsidedow

I thought we could have a good laugh together about us nuts walking our cats or dog into the park.:lmao:
People come on the world is so beautiful. Smile and take breath:hug:

Good!

I hope not. Walt specifically created his parks as places where families with poeple of all ages can enjoy themselves together.

An Adult Night (for as much as I've love a stroller-free evening! :)) goes against that wish and isn't right to the many families with children who come to enjoy a family-friendly theme park together. Imagine telling your kids at a certain time, "Well, you're under 18 so we have to leave the park now so just the grown ups can play."

I do appreciate that V&A is for adults only, and that there is an age requirement to use the exercise rooms.
