I extended a trip a week just few weeks ago so one of my adult kids can join me - woohoo!

I am in sticker/availability shock for my dates @ the Values-yikes. Today, I'm seeing the AoA/LM rooms showing availability for approx $60 more a night & Pop $30 more than what I have booked @ ASMu standard.

Have only done a quick walk-thru of AoA when staying @ Pop. The pools looked great & i liked the offerings I saw @ their food court. I will have a rental car but plan on using bus service on Epcot days:)

Music is my fav Value but the flow can feel very crowded when it's busy there. AoA is priced lower than I've seen it in the past but honestly no idea where it has been tracking lately.

What to do, what to do:bored:

I vote no. But I also choose choice C...

We love AoA, but specifically for the family suites (Cars, Lion King, Nemo). Of course, you pay through the nose for those in exchange for twice the space plus 2 bathrooms. The Little Mermaid, as I understand it, is pretty similar to the AS and Pop setup of a single value room with a single bath.

So, if I'm comparing Value resorts with single rooms, I would go with Pop every time.

I also can't see why the Little Mermaid would cost more than Pop or AS (unless I'm missing something). If Little Mermaid was at the other resorts, it would certainly NOT be a preferred room since it is farthest from the main building. I'd rather upgrade my room at Pop to preferred, then walk across the bridge to AoA for your meal.

Now for one more appeal to Pop...
The pot roast is DIVINE :)

All good points thanx

There is something about trying a new resort, especially themed to one of my fav disney movies lol.

The LM rooms have gotten raves from my extended family & friends, i can see the appeal of sleeping in a 'clamshell' lol

The different in cost though is almost enough to pay for kiddo's park tix.

That is too much difference in price for me. I would stay with either ASMu and possibly spring for a preferred room?

Why not do a split stay?
Stay at music & then switch over to pop or AOA...

I do think a leap of $60 per night from one value to another value is rather excessive-however as a pp stated; it's all supply & demand.

Not adverse to split stays, but trip started out just one week with 2 hotels. Already up to another two for 2nd week. Another change just too much hopping around.

After sleeping on it, $300 more for same category, even if it's 'special' does seem a bit over the top.

Think I'll stay with the value i have but will watch inventory on 3rd party sites/hotwire as dates get closer JIK a deal does pop up.

To go from a room with 2 double beds, furthest from the food court, to a suite with more space, a coffee maker and microwave, I would do it!

Yes, the pool is very cute at AOA, but I would go for more space!

If it was $60 more for your whole stay, then I would say yes immediately. But I'm going with no. How often are you in your room? I like the value because we spend most of our time in the parks and I just need a clean bed and bathroom. Plus the Little Mermaid rooms are the furthest from the main building. Music was by far my favorite All Star. May have been the time of year we went, but everything seemed quieter there than movies & sports.

I agree with most of the posts, NO. I work hard for my money and honestly, it is costing us more and more every year to go to WDW. To spend an extra 60 dollars for a room that is probably comperable in size does not make sense to me. If it was 60 dollars more to stay at the Grand Floridian, then I would say-go for it. I agree with many of those who also stated they love the AS Music. I too have made Music my choice of resort when we make our annual trek. I have stayed else where but we keep going back to Music. Here are some facts that I like to point out whenever this becomes an issue on thses sites. Music has 1604 rooms. Movies and Sports have 1920 rooms each. AoA has 1984 rooms and POP has 2880 rooms. As you can see, if you filled up all of the resorts rooms, Music would have the least amount of people staying at their resort. That's less people at the pool, in the restaurant, waiting for a bus, ect. 99 days and we are back and we can't wait for the magic to begin.

Oops! I misread this question, so should change my answer to NO, not yes!

I thought it said switch from AOA to a suite at the All Stars.

I would not pay more to do the little mermaid room.

I wouldn't switch from value to value for $60/night unless you have a mermaid fanatic in your group. AoA is really nice but the Little Mermaid rooms are too far from the main building for my liking. You may even be able to get a moderate for about that price difference, which would have that more relaxing environment you want.

60.00 a night no! We paid 400.00 more for a week at AKL standard over pop preferred. We couldn't get a discount at the values since I waited so long to book. But I'm going from a value to deluxe. I normally pay a bit more for pop over the AS and I'm ok with that. But we have never stayed at AOA because I won't pay the nightly difference. It is a bit to much for me. We booked last week and we leave in a little over 2 weeks. Nothing like last minute!

if it was a AoA suite, heck yeah..but LM rooms are comparable to other values, just different/better theming.. and a hike as some have compared... IMO, the 60 is not worth it.. Unless you have a DD who is an Ariel freak, then mayble.[/QUOTE]

$60 more per night seems pricey for a room with the same level of amenities. My family has stayed at Music and we liked it and had a good experience. The food court at Music has been renovated in recent years and you are allowed to use the pools/facilities at the other All Stars as well. AOA is a nice resort but I'd just stick with Music in this case.

No definitely not. $60 more a night to go to a mod over a value I'd probably do it, but not to get another standard room at another value resort.

For those who mentioned moderates, only one I'm seeing is CBR. Was shocked at how it looked early July driving past via construction. the upcharge was $120 more per night than ASMu. AoA suites were $245 more a night.
