Would this work...

I know it's early and hours and everything in the world could change between now and then, but I'm a BIG planner and don't mind changing my plan...

I am planning a trip to Disney from 12/30-1/7.

We will be heading to Magic Kingdom on Friday, 12/30 at rope drop. In the past there has been a 7:00 EMH the entire week between Christmas and New Year's Eve. Based on this and several other things would this work?

Hit MK at 7:00 RD and explore without FP+ until after breakfast at CP at 10:30.
Schedule all FP+ after the late breakfast with the last one being 1:30-2:30. At that point we will leave the park and head back to AoA to rest.

Go to the Pirates and Pals cruise for the Wishes Fireworks scheduled at 6:30.

The biggest question...should we be okay...even during the CRAZY BUSY time...to do 7-10 AM with no FP?

Yes, I think so. We went to MK on 1/1 a couple of years ago. We were coming through bag check at rope-drop (which was 9:00, IIRC), so we weren't right at the front of the line, but things were manageable most of the morning. The posted standby time on 7DMT was 60 minutes (first thing) but we only waited about 40 (we had a FP for later but wanted to see the standby queue). I don't remember what all we were able to do that morning, but I don't remember it as being crazy busy until close to lunch.

Just to be clear, (not that it matters much) but, there would be no FP possible during 7AM-8AM EMH.

No FPs during AM or PM EMH.
(That question comes up so often, the info bears repeating.)

Thanks. We plan on being at MK 4 different days and doing FP for 7DMT 1 maybe 2 days, so I wouldn't mind spending the morning doing Adventureland and Frontierland. I knew we couldn't get any FPs for the EMH, but wasn't sure about 8-10. We wouldn't even mind going out to Tom Sawyer Island around 9 as I have a DD 9 and a DS 2 (2 years 10 months). It will be his first time and my daughters 3rd, but she has never been out there. We have only gone the first week of Oct. and the first week of Dec. so I know the crowds are very different.

I just have to keep posting things that you mention, not knowing your particular intentions... just things to note, in general.

The only areas open during MK AM EMH will be Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

Normally, Tom Sawyer Island will not open until 10AM, although it is quite possible that TSI will open at 9AM on a day with an 8AM "regular" hours and/or 7AM EMH. But, with the recent infamous "cutbacks" in CMs, there's no way to know this, for sure.

We have been at WDW over the past 4 Christmas-New Year holiday weeks and are diehard rope-droppers. You should be just fine.
