Back at the end of Sept, first week of Oct, DS came home with a fundraising packet which was due ten days later. Fine. My mother bought something and a neighbor bought something and I turned the packet in on time. That was at least two weeks ago now.

My neighbor asked me when their items are going to be here and I don't know, so this morning I asked the school secretary. Her response? "We don't know. We were supposed to get the items in two weeks ago, but the fundraising company doesn't know when or if they'll be able to get the items to us."

My thought was, if they don't deliver the items by the time the kids get out for Thanksgiving in a couple of weeks, I am going to demand the money paid for fundraiser items back. Would that be unreasonable?

I am NEVER doing fundraisers again.:faint:

It's totally reasonable. A fundraising company should be able to deliver the goods at a specific time.

I pick ours up this Friday.

This was the first (and will be the last!!! ) time I ever let DS do a fundraiser. I think it's the first time his school has ever done one also, AFAIK. He attended there last year and they didn't do one. Don't know about previous years before that though.

What a crazy response from the school! I would not hesitate to ask for the money back - considering they have so little information available.. :headache:

I'm confused - the money was due about 2 weeks ago, and you called, and they said the stuff was supposed to arrive 2 weeks ago? For fundraisers such as these, the stuff is usually in about 1 month after the order was due.

We got our Innisbrook (SP?) items in yesterday - the orders were turned in Sept. 29.

Is this fundraiser something the PTA is in charge of and perhaps may have a better or more accurate answer?

Several years ago my DS was in Middle School and they used Apple for their fundraiser. This was during the dock workers strike. The items took weeks to come in and many of the items were never received. Apple sent a letter to everyone explaining and they finally had to substitute "like" items in some cases.

Yeah, it takes a long time.

I have to warn you, though, the company may be "out" of the stuff you ordered, so they'll send in a replacement. That's what happened to me last year.
