Would this be rude?

My DH and I got tile put in our shower yesterday. The guy is coming back tomorrow to finish up. He did an OK job. There were a few spots in the grout that I think he can redo. I don't know if I'll be here when he comes back tomorrow and I don't know if my husband would remember to tell him about the places he missed. Would it be rude if I put bright post it notes where I think he needs to fill in the gaps??? :confused3

No I would not consider that rude. Your paying for a job well done and it is better to bring this to the attention of the installer now than later. By putting up post it notes, you will be showing him exactly where you want him to redo the tile and he can redo it while he is there tomorrow.

I would do it, and just write a "could you please" on the notes. You're paying them and should expect to be happy with the results.

Not rude at all! Hope it gets fixed to your satisfaction.

I agree, not rude at all. I would just add a please to the note. Good luck.

It's standard. Go ahead and mark them. You can leave a note (punchlist) explaining what your concerns are, if your husband can't relay it. Most people use blue painters tape to mark redo areas.

Same opinion here as everyone else - it is not rude at all.

I don't think it is rude either....I would write on the note "I noticed these, is there something that can be done to fix them? Thanks so much!" the only bad thing about notes is that the person reading them gets to decide how you mean the note. So, he can either take it as nasty or just a suggestion, either way you are the boss, you are paying him.

Not rude at all. Actually it's a pretty good idea because it would be kinda hard for him to say he didnt notice a spot if you have it flagged :teeth:

i would try and do it in person if i could, i know i would prefer my customers pointing spots they arent happy with in person, or in a nice note with an explaination of why they could not be there to show me in person, i have redone spots marked with postits on sevreal paint jobs inthe paste, or marked with tape, word of advice, be easy taping things to tile thius soon, as pressure could dislodge, you say hes coming to finish up, does this maybe include a second coat of grout? lots of the time my t ile man will regrout an entire job to make sure there are no gaps, before he cleans and seals the grout.
