Ok, I think I am done with shopping, yea.

I bought DD13 gift cards: itunes, Mcdonald's, a pottery painting place,etc.

I also want to preface and say that I also like to surprise take her places out of the blue. but here is where the potential silly idea comes in:

make coupons: example, to take her bowling(which she enjoys laughing at me because I am just bad at it, lol)

What do you think? I am just trying to be creative, but then again, I do like to surprise take her places. TIA

That sounds like a very fun and creative idea and I'm sure your daughter will love it!

Good idea!

I have always given DS13 a coupon book for Xmas & birthdays. This actually, is the first time in years he will NOT be getting a coupon book.

Some coupons I always give:

Restaurant Of Your Choice
Fast-Food of Your Choice
One night of NOT scooping the kitty litter
One PlayDay In May With Dad (we let him skip school)
One Day of Not Taking Out the Trash
Staying Up a Half-Hour Late on a School Night

One of my fondest childhood memories was the gift of one-on-one time with each of my parents. No siblings (and there were a lot of them!). Just me and Mom out shopping for a day. And a day spent with Dad at a local amusement park instead of handing him tools to fix the TV.

I think that the coupons are a great idea!

We do coupon books for the kids every year. Some of ours are:

1 trip to the ice cream shop
1 round of golf with Dad
1 round of mini golf
1 special dinner of your choice
1 Dad does your chore for you
1 get our of jail free (to get out of being grounded)
1 ski outing
1 fast food meal
1 stay up 1 hour past bedtime

My boys are 10 and 11. We had to add some fine print over the years. Like they can't ask for a special dinner after mom has already started cooking dinner.

Also include "get out of <name of chore>", "Stay up <X time> past her bedtime", "Get <favorite treat>" or the like ones too.
