I know I am MONTHS away from my ADR date, but I am a bit of an obsessive over planner, and I know that at least a *few* of you dis'ers feel my pain... Would we have probs at restaurants if I make my ADR's for 5 people, and show up as only 4? I have a close friend in Tampa, and I want her to know that she is entirely welcome to join us for dinner as often as possible on our 8 night vaca next year. I would hate to make a ressie for 4, then have her show up, and ADRs are made 6 months ahead. I dont plan on anything that is pre-pay like Cindy's, the Spirit of Aloha, or Hoop.

Can I just check in with an ADR for 5, being only 4 ppl w no problem, like being made to wait even longer, for a smaller table etc... TIA for any info :thumbsup2

No, I don't think it would be a problem at all. I think if your party size was going up, they may make you wait a little longer for a table to become available, but since you're going down, I don't think it matters.

You could always pick up a phone that afternoon and call ahead to let them know of the change before you arrive. It might help another family out in the end, you never know. :)

1) Changing the number in your party means a new ressie.
2) Just tell them when you get to the podium.
3) Can ALWAYS go down in count, but seldom up in count.

Ty all for the advice. I'm just going to make the ADRs for 5, and hope that this encourages my dear girlfriend to join us on several evenings. :thumbsup2

It's not a problem, we did that on our last vacation, we were having my inlaws meet us down there and then my mother invited herself and my dad along. We had a ADR for Fantasmic Dinner package at the Brown Derby, we sent the parents on ahead so they were one short and there was no problem.
