With all these storms coming up, would they ever just cancel the cruise? We are on the 8/19 3 day Wonder, could they keep us a sea for 3 days?? Anyone every had this problem, I know we had bad weather once and ended up in Freeport instead of ??? (can't remember), but Freeport was awful, they had been hit by a storm and there was nothing there, even the major hotels in the area were still shut!!

I wouldn't worry too much. I've heard that Disney's never cancelled a cruise because of weather and I don't expect they would start now.

There are several storms out there now but the only one you would need to be concerned about is Earl. According to the latest NOAA projections, he's looking like he will be in the Western Gulf by Friday and far away from Nassau and Castaway Cay.

Here's the latest prediction for Earl. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ftp/graphics/AT05/refresh/AL0504W5+GIF/152053W5.gif Hit refresh after you click the link to be sure you have the latest map.

Have a WONDERful cruise.

Thats what we like to hear. :hyper:

We are also on the 8/19 Wonder cruise and would hate to miss CC.

Hope Earl keeps "on course".

The only thing I can think of that would force them to cancel a cruise would be if a storm was hitting Port Canaveral on departure day. Otherwise, they just sail around it. Hopefully they wouldn't keep you at sea for the entire cruise, but I guess if that was the only option they could do so.

No, they will not cancel, they will simply alter the itinerary to avoid any bad weather. Even if it meant the cruise would have to disembark from a different port than Canaveral, they would still sail.

This has happened before, just do a search for 'mystery cruise'.

as far as I know they have never cancelled due to weather
they have cancelled due to Norwalk

Im hoping all cruisers get to go on their anticipated cruises

I'm hoping they won't cancel because we're also cruising on the 19th. Flying into Orlando Airport and I hope the airport will be open. I heard there was alot of damage there.

The airport was fully operational as of yesterday afternoon.....

BTW last I saw Earl had really weakened and they weren't even going to issue advisories on it anymore unless something changed.

I just feel sorry for some unsuspecting person to ask what happened

Now......:duck: just in case!

We've cruised frequently during hurricane season as it is also birthday season for us....they've never cancelled. They just re-route the ship to keep it away from tropical storms. There is a port near Tampa that they can use if Port Canaveral can't be used...many alternative ports of call, etc.

There was one cruise that didn't make ANY ports of call, but that's one in 6 years......and that started the deck parties.
