Would Magical Express do this for me?

My DD (age 6) and I leave for Disney in four days. Our plane arrives in Orlando shortly before 9 a.m.

We are staying at CSR for our first two nights, but we would like to go to the Polynesian Resort as soon as we arrive and have a meal at the Kona Cafe.

Would the Magical Express be willing to take us to the Polynesian Resort, even though our reservation is for CSR?

We thought that after breakfast we would take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom and then hop on a bus back to the CSR and check in. Is this possible?

If not, I think we will take a taxi from the CSR over to the Poly as soon as we arrive. There isn't any reason why we have to check in first--right?

Thanks!

If you want to avoid the taxi fare, just catch a bus from CSR to MK and from there grab the monorail to the Poly.

If you're doing the character breakfast at Ohana it is only till 11am
It's going to be tough making it there with your plane landing at 9.

I don't know what the DME stops are if any before CSR but if it's not CSR I would get off at the first stop and then take a cab from there if you're going to have any chance of making it before 11.

I hope you do. Good Luck

Sorry I didn't read your post carefully, I see you are going to Kona Cafe, I don't know what time they serve breakfast until if that is what you are looking for.
If it doesn't matter you might as well just go to CSR first then bus over to the Poly via the MK bus and then Monorail or boat, but you might not get a breakfast menu if that's what you have your heart set on.

I would go ahead and check in before heading to the poly. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes. You will need to store your carry ons anyway, and the rest of your luggage won't be able to be delivered if you haven't checked in.

I would do the same thing - since ME will be stopping close to a main bus stop.

As long as you aren't expecting to go over to MK after breakfast, because you won't have your tickets to get into a park, you can go back to CSR and check-in.

The ME bus doesn't stop at all resorts - you will be bundled with folks in nearby resorts, maybe 2 or 3 of them. So no, it would definitely NOT be possible for your driver to go way out of his way to bring you to the Poly. It's not meant to be a personal taxi service. ;)

Besides, would you want to cart your luggage around the Poly and into the Kona Cafe? I'm not really sure why you want to go directly to Kona without stopping at your resort first, unless it's the breakfast issue offered above.

Well, last year our family flew in from all over and our daughters flight was delayed, we had a dinner rev. and the GF and they let her ride the ME to the GF even though we were staying at a nother resort. They don't care which bus you take, you just tell them the reason for you getting on a different bus, they just don't want you to get on the wrong bus by accident. just ask we did'''''''''''''''

I'm glad it worked out for you. BUT....it doesn't always happen that way. Many have tried to get on a bus to another resort and weren't allowed to. While 'magic' happens, it's not something anyone should count on happening.

Glad you cleared that up; just because it happened once, doesn't mean it happens frequently.

The information about ME specifically states that you are going to the resort that you are checking into......

Like the OP, I do not know all the ins and outs to ME. I thought there was a van pulling up to the airport every 1/2 hour or so and you get on and tell the driver which resort you are going to. I did not know there are different ME vans/bus for different resorts.

I think the OP wants to go to the Poly first so he/she wont miss breakfast as time is crunching from the minute he/she steps off the plane. Checking in at his/her own resort may make or break the breakfast window, which is usually 11:00am...I dont think anyone was trying to beat the ME system..it was just a question.

My advise to the OP is to plan on checking in first, but still ask the driver...you may get lucky!

You are correct, She wasn't trying to beat the ME system; she asked a legitimate question, got the answer she expected and decided to take a cab if needed from CSR over to the Poly.

We were commenting on the later post, where some pixie dust did come one person's way and they were able to ask the driver to go to another resort.

We commented that while that may have happened once, it is not the norm, and we didn't want the OP to get the impression that she may be able to do it.

I understand why you're saying that, but trust me, it won't happen. It's one thing for a DME manager to allow someone to get on a different bus (like already said, very very rare that this wish would be granted), but there is just NO WAY that a DME bus driver will go to a resort that their bus is not supposed to go to. Those babies have GPS ... no way they'll risk getting fired for doing a favor for someone.

I thought the poster was suggesting asking the driver going to POLY if a guest with a CSR voucher could board the bus. I don't think the poster was suggesting a driver add a stop.

But you're not going to get access to a driver of a "different" bus. The Disney CM on the inside leads you to your assigned bus queue, and the Mears employee on the outside scans your voucher as you approach that bus.

Absolutely! And that's the rub. These aren't actual Disney CMs we're talking about here...they are Mears employees. They aren't always concerned with making the guest happy. I have always gotten good service from them, but I doubt they are going to make a ton of exceptions.
When you get to the DME bus line area, they check your voucher and then send you to the appropriate bus line for your resort. I'm not at all sure that first 'CM' is going to allow you to head to the Polynesian bus line. Even if they did, you then have to get past the Polynesian bus driver...they also check your voucher, scan it, and you get on the bus. Your voucher isn't going to scan properly!! Each bus has a certain number of people they can accomodate...if it is a full bus, there is no way they are going to be able to allow another family on it.

So....I guess if breakfast and immediate access to the MK is important to you, you could book a car service, one way. That way, you could head directly to the Polynesian. If your flight arrives, ontime, at 9am, you could feasibly be at the Polynesian by 10am...in plenty of time.

But there is still the issue of luggage. Since ME is not to be used as a luggage transfer service, she would need to bring all of her luggage with her. Can you even bring luggage into a restaurant? I wouldn't think you could, but I've never tried it. Assuming she did, she would then have to get the luggage back to her resort, which would require a cab.
