I'm waiting on ROFR for my first DVC account and have the points and potential uses of points swimming around in my head. I'd love to see examples of how others keep track of points and how you have everything organized. I know I'm not the only OCD vacation planner out there! :surfweb: Thanks in advance. :)

Note: Banked Points = (X)

On the above, the parenthesis is used to keep track of what points are use/lose in that year. i.e. I had 50 BRV points for 2022, and then banked the 17 2021 points into 2022. If I had other points that were use/lose (transferred, borrowed, holding) I would also add them to the parenthesis. So I suppose I should call the parenthesis Use/Lose instead of Banked but Banked is the only category I have right now.

Thanks so much for sharing!

Mine looks essentially like a checkbook… deposits are each year’s points, payments are the points used per trip - with a date and description of each line.

My spreadsheets tend to focus on $pp costs for the trip and also include estimated rack rates (without discounts) of my preferred value and mod for comparison. My $pp costs include a simplifies lifetime value of the points (just in present $$, I am not fancy) plus current MF. I am largely interested in getting a sweet dollar value out of my contract and maximizing points, so it works out that my DH and travel during low point seasons.

Ours is pretty simple for tracking our points, but part of that is because even though we have two contracts they are same use year and resort...

DatePts.NightsResortPoints Running Total

We won't talk about the color-coded individual trip spreadsheet that has the parks, dining, genie + and lightning lanes plans on it that's broken down by day. Although it works for me and hubby to see our plans and helps us track what we did on trips for future planning.
