November of this year Dh and I are going on the 'honeymoon we never had' for our 5th anniversary. We are trying to decide between Pop and POFQ. It will be just the two of us and will probably be the only time we take a 'just the two of us' trip.

I love Pop, have stayed there twice this year but part of me yearns to upgrade for this trip. Dh says lets take Pop and the difference of what it would cost us and blow it (it's about $400) on something frivolous like a Couples session at the Spa or silly gifts for each other. But, he will let me make the final decision.

Will we spend much time in the room, probably not. We are active people who will basically only sleep and shower in the room.

So, I guess it boils down to...is POFQ enough of an upgrade to justify the $400 price difference???

Hi,

Know my view is shaded as I am a Pop fan who has been there twice this year and have two return trips booked already! hehe

I say go for Pop because you know you are happy there and use the cash you save to do some of the tours, or spa treatments, or rent a boat, etc.

Good luck making your choice!

Decide what would make this trip the most special and "honeymoon-ish". Nice word, huh? :goodvibes

You've been to POP, so you can make an informed choice about the rooms. I really can't give an opinion on that--I've not stayed at the values, but I love POR--and imagine POFQ would be as wonderful. Just decide if the resort is more important or if better dinners, etc would make it more memorable.

Thanks, well we have dining plan either way so ARGH! I'm so confused. Dh loves to shop while we're there so since this is his first trip this year and my third maybe I'll let him have his way :teeth:

Have you considered PO Riverside?

We have stayed at both POFQ and POR and I think for what you are looking for you would be really happy with POR.

Let me know if you have any interest in learning more about it.

You'll definitely find a more romantic setting at PO or POR. POR being my favorite. Walking at night, along the river walk...gazing at the lights reflecting on the river. Taking dips in the 24/7 pool at night, when it is not unusual to have the pool to yourself. Stopping at the gazebo at Magnolia Terrace...POR is just a wonderful setting at night (and in the daytime, too!). Plus, should you decide you'd like to keep some wine or wine coolers chilled during your stay, fridges are included in moderate rooms.

I vote for POFQ. It is quiet and very romantic. They have carraige rides at POR and the boat to DTD can be romantic too. DH and I have had the luck of being the only two on it a couple of times and trust me it is way worth $400. princess:

We've not stayed at POP, so I'm no help there. However, POFQ is lovely and quite romantic in its way. It's a charming resort. It's also closer to DTD if your hubby likes to shop. Just a boat ride away.
