Hello,

I was hoping to get some feedback on my ADR's (restaurants and times) before I call Disney and make my reservations. It will be myself and DN(12) going the 3rd week in March and I am planning on doing the regular dining plan:

Day 1 - Arrive late so CS meal

Day 2 (my b-day)
Crystal Palace @ 11 am (good with breakfast or lunch food)
Coral Reef @ 7 pm

Day 3
Tony's Town Square (DN choice) @ 7 pm

Day 4
Chef Mickey @ 8:30 pm (late dinner before EMH, hoping later means more character interaction)

Day 5
Ohana @ 5:30 pm

Day 6
Ohana Best Friends Breakfast @ 9:30 am (sleep in after EMH and eat before going to WP)
Rainforest Cafe @ 7:00 pm (pay out of pocket)

Day 7
50's Prime Time Cafe @ 5:30 pm

*Debating between Ohana breakfast and 1900 Park Fare breakfast
** Also debating doing Sci-Fi lunch (pay out of pocket) on our last day

Please let me know your thoughts!

You hav chosen good places. I wish I were going on your trip. Are you sure you need the DDP, though? Each of the places you have chosen are relatively inexpensinve compared to other table service choices. You might want to look at menus to see if the dining plan will save you $.

It looks to me like you are staying 6 nights. You have 7 restaurants chosen plus the one you are planning to pay for out of pocket. If that's the case, you'll need to pay OOP for another meal since you'll only have 6 TS credits per person. If you're there 7 nights (not days) you're good as the credits are tied to the number of nights you are spending.

I like all of your choices except Crystal Palace and Tony's. We have had sub-par service at both and the food at Tony's is just fair, IMHO.

Thanks for the feedback. We are staying 7 nights (8 days) so as far as credits go it seems to be alright.

I keep going back and forth on whether or not to go with the dining plan. I have compared the cost of paying for everything out of pocket vs going with the dining plan. Once you add in snacks and counter service it seems like the Dining plan will save us a little money (not much but a little). I also kind of like the idea of having it prepaid and just need to show my room card and some cash to cover the tip. Give me 5 min I am sure I will change my mind again. :confused3

Tony's normally wouldn't be my first choice, however I gave my niece a description of some of the restaurants and that was one of the ones that sounded fun to her. I have never had it or CP so I thought I would give them a shot (love the character meals).

Any opinions on which breakfast is better, Ohana or 1900 Park Fare? Or suggestions instead of Crystal Palace (it is my b-day that day so I would like something good).

I think they are great with the exception of Chef Mickeys dinner, BLECH!!!!

If you decide to stick with CP, I recall having lunch/dinner there on a past trip and everyone thought it was good.

I've had both breakfast and dinner at 1900 PF, and I liked both. I understand they made changes to the food selections since then, so I can't comment on recent activity.

I've never been to Ohana for breakfast, but even so I think I'd lean towards 1900 PF. One is family style and the other buffet, so more choices at the buffet.

I have three suggestions to consider...
1) Do Boma for breakfast on your b-day if it won't throw off your plans too much.

2) Work in CRT for breakfast, lunch or dinner. That might be a good option in lieu of Chef Mickey's for dinner. We've always done breakfast at Chef Mickey's - dinner there scares me  CRT is 2 TS credits though or pay OOP. If you pay OOP, I'd consider scrapping Rainforest for a TS on the DDP (plus, you can eat at Rainforest in other cities - the castle is only in WDW).

3) Consider Chef Mickey's for your b-day breakfast and then pick something else for the dinner you had.

Good Luck!
