Hello,
We are hoping to go to WDW 09/25 thru 10/02 2006. For those of you lucky ones just returning, how were the crowds, and how was the weather? And any special suggestions for planning our trip for then?

Thanks for the info!

We went on our first disney trip from 9/25- 9/30. It was very hot, I am from the north. The crowds were minimal, didn't wait very long to ride anything- except the safari at AK. We are going back again next year at the same time but am going to stay at POR.

We just got back, our 3rd WDW trip for the last week in Sept with 1 disney cruise thrown in . Personaly we have always been lucky with this week...except for hurricane Jeanne last year. But even Jeanne was not that bad, and it sure cleared the parks for the rest of the week. This year it was hotter than normal. low 90's and the crowds were increased due to the free dinning offer. Still only 10 - 20 minute ride lines..As long as you can deal with the pre trip weather channel watching stress I say "Go for it"..ps buy the travel insurance to relieve that stress! :wave2:

ASMo Sept. 23-29th
Crowds were only a bit more then I expected at MK but it was a sat.
Other then that great. We did see crowds at Epcot on the 29th before leaving, but that was also the first day MNSSHP and food and wine fes.
Weather: :sunny: HOT We want in 2000 Oct.16th -23rd. Much cooler then this trip! Came home to 62 degrees

We were there 9/27 thru 10/4 - crowds were nonexistant until 10/1. Everyone that works there said its strange, but people wait til 10/1- possibly relating October to MNSSHP and Food and Wine Festival. The weather was hot, with a surprise rainstorm thrown in at least once a day, but not too bothersome. From now on, I'm going the last week in September.

Yes, we saw crowds pick up 10/1. I think it was deffinitely related to Food and Wine.

This was our 2nd "end of Sept" trip. The first was 9/22/2001 - 9/30/2001, this one was 9/24-10/4.

I throw out the "2001" trip since it was 11 days after 9/11 and the parks were EMPTY, and I mean EMPTY.

This trip, the parks were great until 10/1, nice and low crowds. Highest time for waits were middle of the afternoon for the most popular rides. But even then, the waits were 20-30 minutes max. Sat 10/1 we saw 50 minute waits in the afternoon for Buzz, Mon 10/3 we saw 80 minute wait for Soarin' at 11AM while Soarin had been 30-40 minute wait max earlier the week before. I definitely think it was Free Dining, MNSHHP, and Food and Wine festival that contributed to the crowd levels.

Both trips it has been HOT with afternoon showers daily. It is definitely hot enough for water parks.

We will definitely go back in September again, probably the 2nd to last week of September and skip MNSHHP and F&W crowds.

I just got back from WDW 9/28-10/7 and it was HOT!! crowds got increasingly more as the trip went on. we waited an hour for soarin on 2 occasions, 1st time fasspasses were gone but it was mid-afternoon 330ish mon the 3rd and i kind of expected it. the 2nd time we got there at 140pm on the 4th, i know late but early for the crew i was with and got fastpassed for 540-640. btw, soarin was totally worth the wait!! what an amazing ride, evern my 3yr old loved it!
i was very glad i made dinner ressies beforehand! mgm was all booked from what i heard talking with other visitors, no one could get a walk-in there, even lunch.

As we have been before in October several times, I was highly surprised at the crowds we saw. We arrived on 10/1, and on the second day, at MGM the crowds were absolutely unbearable. We even had several CM's tell us that they had not seen it coming. The next day(10/3) MK was just as awful. We missed many things we had wanted to see, and it was hot, hot, hot!

But then the rain came and it would pour for about an hour and then the sun would come back out and it would be hot again. Our best day was 10/5 and the crowds were back down to what I expect in October and it was overcast and pretty cool. Nights were much better, especially in Epcot.

Thanks so much for the info. Wasn't aware the wine event and the halloween event started Sept 30. Perhaps for next year, I should move our trip back to Sept 18. Good to know about the increase in crowds.

1st trip 9/29-10/6: unseasonably hot all week, and wet starting Saturday AM. Saturday AM was a washout.

We got through MK fairly smoothly on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the crowds were worse than expected Saturday at EPCOT and Monday at Animal Kingdom. EPCOT crowd makes sense with the Food & Wine Festival, but AK on a Monday??? I just did not get it.
