Would it be a waste to do these parks pregnant?

We had it all planned out that DS was old enough (and hopefully brave enough) to try US/IOA this trip. However, Mom has gone and thrown a wrench in the works; it seems that I'm pregnant.
I will be at appox. 11 weeks during the trip.

So.... given that such a high percentage of the rides at these parks have warnings for expectant mothers, would it, IYE, be a waste of money to bother buying a pass for me? I suppose I could just hang by the pool while DS and DH go without me.

The Disney threads are all full of questions about pregnancy, but no one ever seems to mention it over here; it begs the question if anyone ever bothers to go to these parks pregnant at all.

TIA!

IOA would be more of a "waste" than USF for you. IOA has the majority of intense rides that are not recommeded for expectant mothers. If you really want to, you can ride anything, but Universal cant be held responsible if anything happens to your unborn child. You'd only have to worry about BTTF and MIB at USF. Jaws isnt that rough, Earthquake isn't extremely bumpy, Jimmy Neutron has stationary seats, ET is very tame. If you choose to go to IOA, you'll be very limited, but you can always walk around, check out nooks and crannies, take cool photos, etc.

I think Dark Marauder's assessment is pretty on target. IOA would have more bumping and jerking on rides and lots of stuff at US would still be fun for you. Heck, my DDs are teenagers and I don't ride anything wild, but I still go! I'm not pregnant and have no excuse for being a wimp, other than motion sickness! I just enjoy seeing them enjoy it with their dad and walking around the parks with my family.

I would ask your doc their opinion. When I was pg the doc told me that up to 12 weeks there isn't anything I couldn't do. He said that bumpy rides, tuburlance, etc would make no difference at all. Either your pg will work or not regardless...

He said that after 12 weeks it did make a difference and said no to the extreme rides/mostly bumpy. The parks put the signs up for liability reasons.

I'm not sure if I would have felt comfy riding those rides though just on the off chance. I would have felt so guilty if soemthing had happened!

IOA would be hard to watch everyone ride the exciting ones unless you are the kind of person who doesn't like them anyway.

While not the same intensity I did ride at DL: Indy, Boblsleds, Thunder Mountain, etc. while being 10 weeks along with no problems.

We went to these parks when I was seven + months pregnant. There is very little you can do. I really missed riding Spiderman. It was still fun though. I took pictures and was able to see my son visit with all the superheroes. I could also run around in the water areas. Despite the lack of rides, I would have been sorry to have missed the experience with my DH and DS.
