Would I be crazy to go 8 mos prego

So, we are going with my 2 year old next week and then have a week booked at BLT for November 14th. Just found out I was pregnant and due 12-27. Is it crazy for me to still go?

I just found out that I'm preggo too due on 12/9. I'm going in May (in 34 days to be exact) and then again in Sept.....I'll be almost 7 months.......I decided that I'm going and I'll be in the pool!

That can be pretty risky being so close. Talk to your OB.

Not crazy. BUT check with your obgyn and airline( if flying). Some airlines will not allow you to fly after a certain point in pregnancy, and your obgyn may be vocal about it as well. Also you know every pregnancy is different. My Sil's first she was fine, by month 6 of her second she was on bedrest.So I would wait and see till it is neccessry to make a decision

I was in no condition for lots of walking at that stage in my pregnancy. My sciatica acted up bad.

I delivered both my kids at 8 months......Id ask your obgyn. If he gives you the OK, and you feel like it, by all means go have fun!!!

I don't think you would be as much crazy as you might be miserable. I know at 8 months with both of mine I had swollen feet, and felt like at any moment the child was gonna drop (ouch thinking about that brings back memories..). I would say if you take it easy and maybe do less than half of a park a day, and got plenty of rest you will be alright, but when we are at Disney we all over do it and try to fit it all in and seriously need a vacation after a Disney vacation...haha

I would run it past the dr. and see how he/she feels about it.

I'm going on Saturday and I'm 7 months pregnant. I'm excited to go and will just do everything my two year old can do. I'll take lots of breaks and spend a lot of time in the pool! If your doc is ok with it I would go.

Okay, I have been a mother baby nurse for 25 years. I can assure you that your ob will advise you not to travel the last 3 months of your pregnancy. I have had many of healthy patients who ignored this advice and ended up delivering early in my city rather than at home. I had to be the sour puss that ruins your Disney vacation but would you want to have a child that might possibly have to spend several weeks plus in a neonatal intensive care unit far from your home. Please check with your doc before goinfg. My advice would be to reschedule for sooner in your pregnancy or after delivery.

Check with your OB first, airline second. My OB had me stay within a one hour drive of my hospital the last four weeks of my pregnancies. I flew when I was 5 months pregnant with DD4 to Italy. It was ok, not very comfortable. I did have a copy of my medical records in case of an emergency.

Many airlines have restrictions on flying when pregnant and require a doctor's note if you want to fly beyond 36-37 weeks. Maybe move the trip up a month to be on the safe side?

I went at 35 weeks and it was great. I took it easy, went swimming in the pool.. snacked around the world I was still able to do all of the same rides that the children went on. We had a blast.
My care provider thought it was fine- her only concern was that I stretch my legs during the flight (concern of clotting).
If your care provider thinks it's fine and you're feeling up to it, I'd go for it.
I will admit, though, that this was the only trip we've ever purchased trip insurance for, just in case we had to cancel.

Every woman's pregnancy is unique. I would have been miserable. And I would have been one of those people who delivered far from home since my daughter decided she wanted to arrive a little early.

(Only time she's ever gotten out the door early in her life....ever since then its been a hassle to get her ready to leave!)

ITA!!! I'm a neonatal intensive care unit RN, and I can't tell you how many premature babies I've taken care of where the expecting mom traveled to our city for a baby shower/wedding/graduation/baptism, etc. etc. I had a baby I took care of who finally went home last week after a five month stay in our NICU; her parents had traveled here from West Virginia at Thanksgiving time when mom was 26 weeks pregnant. I'm in no way saying that travelling caused her to deliver early (that could have happened if they'd stayed home in W.V.), but it was very difficult for the parents to cope with being that far away from home for that long.

I'd be rescheduling my trip in a heartbeat; Disney will be there for you to enjoy in the future.

I just wanted to repost because I realized how harsh my last post sounded.
I'm not trying to be the one who rains on your Disney parade- Just don't want your vacation and your pregnancy to end in crisis mode. But as the previous poster said it is extremely stressful to be away from home with no family support and no place to stay during a health crisis. I hope you have a happy, healthy and memorable pregnancy and delivery, And most importantly,

to your question... I doubt at 8 months.. maybe 7.... definitely not at 8 months with a 2 year old. I think that would be pushing your body a bit too much.

I'll be going at 34 weeks.
I asked my dr. early on and she told me not travel past 36 weeks. But said it was ok otherwise.
1st baby was on his due date. This one will be a planned c-section. We're driving (I won't fly during the 3rd trimester, personal preference.
I'm looking forward to it -- I want to sit by the pool and ride the train and small over and over again with my 3 yo. Don't intend on overwalking or overdoing anything.

Talk to your doctor first and foremost.

My oldest daughter had the same due date as you- 12/27. She was born on 11/30- 4 weeks early. No way would I go. That was stressful enough.

I doubt your OB will give you the okay on that. I wanted to go to my brother's wedding when I would have been 36 weeks, and the answer I got was "absolutely not." This was my second, and I was not high risk, nor did I have problems with either pregnancy. So, I missed my brother's wedding.

As others have said, Disney will be there later.

Airlines will not let you fly at 36 weeks.

Also, ask yourself if you are OK with an early baby arriving out of state (or country I did not check where you were from sorry )

If you choose to go, I would definately have a plan of what you are going to do if you do go into labor - where will you go, who will look after your other child, etc. Some hospitals will not let you leave without an approved car seat - so are you willing to travel with one or purchase one there if you need to? Oh so many questions....

I guess what I am trying to say is you are the only one who can make this decision, with help from your family, OB and DH. And do what works for you - don't let anyone tell you your decision is wrong!! Either way, just make sure you do your homework first. And, have a plan

I did DisneyLand in CA at 7 months and was miserable (it was my third pregnancy). I would never do it again, unless I sat in a wheelchair the entire time.

Not only will airlines not let you fly, but many insurance companies will not cover any costs if you're out of a certain radius of your covered hospital. Just be careful and use your head about if it's a good decision for you.
