Would Disney be more likely to use ROFR if

you already have a reservation in their system? I am in the second week waiting to hear on my second try through ROFR and am a bit more paranoid this go round. We bid more safely this time ($76/pt for 175 BWV), but maybe not safe enough.

We got a 40% PIN in Dec and I have used it for a reservation to stay at the BCV in Sept '10. Would Disney take this into account when deciding whether or not to use ROFR on our contract? If we get the contract the plan is to use points and change the reservation.

After reading some things about Disney 'targeting' certain contracts I am a bit worried ours would be red flagged due to the existing reservation. What do you think? Reason for ROFR or not? :confused3

No.....it would be very time consuming to cross reference and there would be little incentive to do so......DVC they would have you for life vs one reservation. Good luck :goodvibes

I think it was Disneynutz who said "Disney's Best Kept Secret" is how and when it decides to ROFR. I don't think anyone can predict with certainty what gets ROFRed and what doesn't. I suspect that it comes down to inventory and the acquisition cost. If Disney has only a few points in its inventory for a specific UY and resort, then its probably more likely to ROFR. By acquisition cost, I mean not only the cost per point, but also whether it (as the buyer) has to paying closing cost and/or MFs.

Good luck on getting your contract!!!

You should be fine at that number. I just passed this week on a loaded contracted at BWV for $73 a point and I had a reservation booked already for a week in Sept at BLT. :goodvibes

When we bought last year, we also had a reservation with DRC. It had no effect as we passed ROFR in just 19 days.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for the positive responses! I feel much better that the reservation shouldn't influence ROFR. I am getting excited and anxious seeing all these great buys go through at BWV. Hopefully ours will pass too and we'll be planning our first trip "home" very soon :)

You do know that any pending reservation with a given contract will be canceled as part of the transfer process? Of course you can time closing to occur afterwards in some cases.

Would a cash reservation fall into this category? My reservation is through Disney with a PIN code, and I was thinking of keeping it to offer to friends or family if we are able rebook our vacation with points.

No, just on the contract being bought/sold. DVC is not vindictive with ROFR like some companies are.

I had two cash ressies in the hopper when I finally passed ROFR (after two failures).
