Would Cinderella's Royal Table be appropriate for my guests?

This trip (I've been to WDW around 25 times) I'll be traveling with a friend and her 11 year old son. They've never been to WDW and are unlikely to be able to afford another trip. Would Cinderella's Royal Table be a good experience for them? I've never eaten at the castle myself.

I've also heard that the food at the various restaurants that have been housed at the castle has been mediocre on a good day. How is the actual food at this restaurant? I'm not a foodie by any means, but I don't want to shell out the money for this if the food's actually bad.

I didn't think the food was bad (I just didn't love it) BUT the atmosphere doesn't get any better. :thumbsup2 I think it would be great for them to eat in the castle. I think it's all about the experience.

Just wanted to give my opinion. Although CRT has the best Disney atmosphere. I really don't think that an 11 yo boy would really enjoy it, especially if money is a concern for this family. There are many other TS options that may suit you better. How about HDDR or something along those lines for a special meal? Since you're sepending the money, you at least get a fun show! Just my 2 cents......good luck in your planning.

I think are looking for Breakfast I would go with Ohana at Poly with Stitich, mickey, Lilo & Pluto or Cape May at Beach Club with Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale. For lunch or Dinner Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Eating in the Castle is great fun. And where else can you eat in a castle? The food is only fair. Not sure an 11-year-old boy would enjoy the princess interaction at breakfast or lunch. Our boys at age 11 tolerated the princesses. So, perhaps you may want to consider dinner, which does not have the character interaction.

Another character meal our boys have enjoyed is the Lilo and Stitch breakfast at the Polynesian. Most boys like Stitch.

They also love Coral Reef for the huge aquarium with sharks, turtles, etc.

We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere -- eating in the Castle is awesome! My boys weren't exactly thrilled about having the mandatory picture taken with Cinderella but they did love the Castle.

The food is ok.
To eat in the castle; sublime

My ds ate there for his 7th bday.He was not that crazy about the food, but he loved the fact that he dined there. He actually "saw what it looked like on the inside" and still talks about it. :goodvibes

My 3 kids and I ate there for lunch once and loved it. I thought is was pretty tasty. My son was 11 at the time and didn't have an opinion one way or another.

I think if this is their first time to WDW, what kid wouldn't want to eat in the castle - it's so alluring.
