My mom stopped by my house today and I was showing her the DISboards. I showed her the thread you started about your brother. My mom is a private duty nurse and is currently taking care of a 9 year old little boy from 10pm to 6am 5 nights a week so his mother can get some sleep.

When she saw the thread about your brother she asked me to print out a card for her and send it along. So, WHEN and IF, I get out of the house(we're expecting 12-16 inches of snow tomorrow), I will be dropping another card in the mail for your brother. I still have the address so you don't need to send it again.

I hope by the end of this coming week you have dozens of cards to pass along to your brother.

Hi Lisa,

Giving this another bump and letting you know I dropped my mother's card in the mail this morning on my way to CVS. I got out before it started snowing real bad. I had to go and get my DW pain medication. My DW is having hip replacement surgery a week from tomorrow, as long as we can get to the hospital.
We are expecting 12-20 inches of snow or maybe more between today and Monday.
I took this photo earlier, we now have over 6 inches on the ground.

It's going good so far! I've gotten your card, and we've gotten cards from Maine, Texas, NJ, South Carolina, Ohio (all the kids from the aftercare program at the Cincinnati YMCA to be exact!), Canada and Chicago!

I told my mother about it and she almost started crying! She says it's so nice to think of all of you thinking about Michael.

Thank you, everyone! I just know he's going to love these. I'm hoping they will be a bright spot in this mess for him.

FYI, his surgery is scheduled for March 17th, but I won't be able to get any pictures of him for a few days after that because my mom says that they will keep him unconscious and intubated (NO clue how to spell that!) on a breathing machine and IV for 2-3 days, so that his heart and valve get a chance to start healing without any disturbances. I know they always take picture immediately after the operation and each day afterwards to show progress, but I said we'd wait until he's awake!
