Would anyone be interested in a Pal Mickey swap?

Anyone else last on a Pal Mickey Swap that has made arrangements with GKTW?

I tried calling Kathy Aubruner, spoke with her assistant since she wasn't available. She knew exactly what I was talking about when I told her about Pal Mickey! BUT she said there was no way to get Pal Mickey picked up at WDW and I'd have to drop off at GKTW. Not too big of a deal, but I just wanted to find out if anyone had been able to arrange pick-up instead???

Either way I will get Pal Mickey dropped off to them as long as he gets successfully swapped to me!

Thanks Josette. I was just about to call them today and let her know that we will have a Mickey for her on 8/3. Please do tell if anyone has been able to call and have a runner pick it up from their resort.

Did you ask about having it picked up from a resort? I think they have package/parsel service from park to resort, so maybe that is the way to go.

I'll try calling also.

We are going to Disney World June 6-12. We have a 2 1/2 year old son who would LOVE the Pal Mickey! Let me know the specifics if you can get it together! I think it would be a blast to make a little album of all the "adventures" that Pal Mickey and him have!

Update on GKTW donation:

I spoke to Kathy at GKTW today and she verified that they could have someone pick up Pal Mickey at WDW! Yeay! She asked if I could call GKTW that day to let them know exactly where the hotel allowed me to leave Mickey.

Thanks Java for letting us know! I called this morning and left her a voice mail, but I'm SO glad to hear you were able to talk with her. Please let us know how the hand off goes to GKTW.
I think my swap's Mickey is #4 for them, to be delivered in August. I'm so glad they can send someone to pick him up!

Can this only be purchased at the park or can you get one at Downtown Disney?

If at MK, where is the closest place to buy one and what age are they geared for?

Also, when you return home, do they still talk and what could they possibly do?

Try sending a PM (private message) to Southern4Sure. She's coordinating our exchange and there are a couple of days in July between me and Naisy68 when Mickey will be all by himself.

My days run from 7/10-7/15 but I would be happy to pass him on to you on the 14th. Naisy68 doesn't get to WDW until 7/18, so you could potentially have Pal Mickey for 3 or your days.

Why dont you organize one for Sept.? It really isnt hard and I have really enjoyed organizing ours. I would start now in getting a sept thread going. I wouldnt go more than 6 wks of usage.

<font color=darkviolet>MissSwish, Just got back tonight and wanted to let you know how much our family enjoyed PalMickey!! We only had him for a few days, but we had so much fun. My DS 7 loved hearing the jokes and playing the games over and over. This was an activity that he did while we walked between Shades of Green and the Poly ( to use the monorail). DD 4 was in the stroller and PalMickey helped take his mind off of the extra walking. DD loved changing his shoes ! Because I was worried about theft, someone always had to be holding PM. We took to calling him "the baby" and because he has a bit of weight to him, you find yourself holding him like a baby! We took him to the AK Lodge to swap off, leaving him at the front desk for the next family. I took pictures of the kids posing with PM as a goodbye. DS7 even kissed PM goodbye.

Everyone before us had keep good logs of PM's days. We filled up a few pages ourselves. Thanks for the fun and good memories! </font>

PalM should have been left for GTKW pickup yesterday, so I plan to write or call Kathy either late today or sometime tommorrow.

We left Pal Mickey for GKTW at the Contemporary Bell Services Desk yesterday morning. I left Kathy a voice mail message yesterday, I hope she got it. Thanks again MissSwish for the generous donation!

I have been attempting to confirm that PM was picked-up. Apparently Kathy is out of the office until Tuesday, but I have left a message with her assistant asking her to call me.

I have heard from Lissa, Kathy's assistant and she has reported that PM did make it safely to GKTW.

She was very amused by PM's journal book, seems like he had quite a few adventures. (sure wish I could read that journal)

One suggestion for future swappers that intend to have a journal, make it very clear that the journal is PMicks. Apparently, at first Lissa thought the journal belonged to a child and was concerned about some of the comments in the book (what DID some of you do to PM?!?!? j/k) i.e. being left alone in the room while others went out, locked in a room safe and flying through the air like Tinkerbell and landing on his nose. (the last one was my fault)

Okay,

We went to the BEACH!! I didn't want Mick to be sandy and fishy smelling, so I left him behind. He is 75 years old for pity's sake he should be able to care for himself! LOL. I am glad he made it to GKTW and I apologise for confusing anyone. I didn't lock him in a safe! I am sure he and my two year old had fun in the room while we went out! JUST KIDDING! Mary- our Journal highlighted Mick going to all the parks with us, being left in the room, Sitting in philharmagic five times with us. Dinner with Cindy- I think. THe clothes were great. Thanks again!
