Would anyone be interested in a Pal Mickey swap?

MissSwish, That's really nice of you to offer your Pal Mickey for the swap! If we do end up using your Mickey, since I'm the last one on the list for the May swap, I would gladly pass on Mickey to GKTW. We're leaving on a Sunday though, are they open on that day? Are they on the way to the airport? Thanks!

Off topic, but something I wanted to share.
2 years ago me, my sister and our combined 5 kids went to Orlando. We were driving around just sort of looking for something fun on our way to Wal-Mart. We saw a sign for GKTW but didn't know what it was. We just thought it was something cool for the kids. Well we found it & thought it looked like so much fun! We went through the gate w/the car in front of us. We saw a family in a driveway and asked them what this place was, a resort or something? When the mother told us why they were there I was speachless. Our car was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The kids started asking us questions and we couldn't even answer them because my DS & I were both crying. We felt just terrible. Here we were all excited about finding this cool place and even "sneaking" in the gate. We skipped wal-mart and just took the kids through a drive-thru and back to swim at the hotel. Talk about a downer. I felt guilty the rest of the time we were there. I passed the sign by wal-mart again 2 weeks ago and got that sick feeling in my stomach again. I'll never forget that day. or that mother with her kids.
Anyways, maybe that's why I thought of them for the Mickeys.
My kids' school collected money to send a 4 year old with cancer to GKTW a few months ago. They collected double the goal so sent 2 families! It is a great place.
I can understanding wanting to take Mickey home, but maybe that should be left to someone buying him on their own and the ones that are bought by the swappers should be donated.

JavaJ, thanks for replying I am thrilled to hear that you are willing to let PalM stay in Orlando, now if the other May folk's will just contact Microcell and let her know if they are okay with it then we will know if my PalM is the one we will all go with or if some of the May folk need to buy a new PalM.

I need to contact GKTW to see how all of this can be worked out with them. As soon as I hear back and I hear from Microcell, I'll let you know.

Has anyone heard back about cleaning him yet? I don't remember off-hand who it was, but someone e-mailed Disney about the cleaning.
Also, what kind of batteries do we need? If I know I'll just make sure I have some with me when it's my turn.

Be sure to label your pal mickey's..perhaps with a phone number of someone who won't be at Disney, but will have a list of where he is suppose to be, in case he's found, so the findee has someone to call to tell them he's been found. (perhaps a contact person will have a master list of names/dates/resorts).
I'll take care of May's tag..just need to know who's contact info to put on him..or, I can put on..something like "this Pal Mickey is part of a Disboard swap. Please call 000 000 0000 if you find him. If he's not claimed by such and such a date, please donate him to GKTW 000 000 0000.
If the first person who will have Pal Mickey for May, PM's me with their addy, and someone tells me for sure what to put, and the contact info, I'll get the first tag out. It'll be a laminated tag, that will attach to PM's arm or leg and can be removed for donation..

I am soo sleepy so if I get this all right, I would be shocked! Just to let you all know that my DD had her appendix removed yesterday and will be in the hospital for 7 to 10 days. It was infected! The good news is that she passed gas and is closer to eating! We had been waiting and listening all day as she cannot eat until she proves her bowels are moving! She is good but hungry! Anyway I wil not be very good at checking the boards until the middle of april! Here is what I think I have:

If Snap wants it I can give up Mick may 11th or 12th so Discrazy I guess you are willing to change dates on both sides of your trip, so you and poohbear7 and snappie need to talk! Pooh bear7, I got your PM but it looks like Diz Crazy wrote you a message on the board about when to swap. I think you can work it out with her.

Miss Swish, thank you!! I have no problem paying you if you want something for your thoughtful idea! I guess that means no coordinated effort to pay the first person unless hugs and kisses count!

I think once I hear from Snap and fredna I will update this, but feel free to PM the person before and after you to work out drop off and pick up times. Doris, I will let you know if we need you!

If anyone outside the above mentioned and listed people wants May I will not be able to coordinate another seperate run of Pal Mickey. If someone else wants to grab the bull by the horns and start their own run of a mickey, I will tell you this one has just about filled up in only a matter of days!

Missyc- Off track!

Don't feel bad. when DD's surgeon came out yesterday and said all went well, but she would need to be hospitalized for at least a week I started bawling and have not really stopped. She has been through so much and she has not eaten in three days and is looking at two more days with no food or drink. Anyway, I was so upset at the Ronald Mc Donald house/ surgical waiting area that I barily noticed another family who was receiving really bad news about their baby's heart! I felt like a real heel having a fit about my otherwise healthy daughter so I went outisde to give them some room and to escape my embarassment when I met a couple who have been visiting their preemie for two months who has countless medical issues! I was humbled . At least you just didn't know. I was being a baby in the middle of a place where people have life threatening issues! I felt like a real doofus when my husband told me appendix removal patients have a less than 1% mortality rate!

Thanks, she will be 6 in three weeks. She is such a little adult though! I was about to cry on the phone with her because DH wanted to stay tonight and I want to be with her so badly. I asked how she was doing and she said "good" and was very mature about everything. She got very excited about passing gas on the phone, and cheerfully said, there is another one!! Hopefully that means she gets popsicles tomorrow.

oh you poor things (your daughter and you). I was a basket case when my almost 30 something daughter had her apendix removed (it was actually during another surgery that they found it by accident on it's way to blowing). I can't imagine if she was only 6.
