FIXED! It turns out out-going SMS texts can be blocked while still being able to send MSM and receive SMS. Fido, for some reason or other, registered her phone # as sending spam.
Until Friday evening or Saturday morning, my daughter was able to send SMS messages. On Saturday she realized no one was receiving her texts anymore.
She is able to send MMS - we tested by sending a photo.
She is able to receive texts.
If we turn on iMessage, she can send a text message to another iPhone via iMessage. It will not send text messages via SMS to android phones. We do not want to leave iMessage on. It's always been off in the past to avoid complications with texting.
I have gone through so many articles, trying to fix the issue. The iPhone 8 is up-to-date.
I'm currently on the phone with Fido, asking them to check their end and see if they blocked her SMS by chance. He says not. He tried a few things and is now transferring me to someone else. IF the SMS was blocked by Fido on her phone, she shouldn't be able to receive SMS texts from other phones right? Because she gets those.
Her phone is an iPhone 8. Mine is a Samsung S20. My son has a S7 or S8. James has a google pixel. We have tried while connected to our Fido Wi-FI. We have tried while connected to my Dad's Bell Wi-Fi. We have tried while her phone was not connected to anyone's Wi-Fi but going through Fido's cellular data.
Any ideas? Please & thank you!
