We're surprising our 2 boys with a trip to WDW in 18 days :scared1:

Looking for some special things for gift bags to give them when we give them their surprise. I have a lot of stuff so far like these special water balls for the pool, t-shirts, disney dollars, arcade cards, home-made autograph book for DS8. For DS8, I made an autograph book and we'll also be letting him go on a haunted pirate cruise one night when we're there. Anyway, I was looking for something special for DS13 for his gift bag and started thinking about pin trading.

Is pin trading something a newly turned 13 (who's immature) boy would want to do?

Thanks.

All my kids enjoyed pin trading. They are dd12, ds10, ds7, dd4. I expected my dd12 to want to do pin trading but didn't expect my ds10 to get into it. They found pins for their favorite characters and sport teams. Dh was so exited to find an Ohio State Mickey pin. My ds10 loved trading. He got such a kick at looking at the cast members pins.

My niece and nephew really enjoy it. They are 14 and 10. So I would say yes. In fact, my parents went almost 2 years ago with my brother, his family and my brother's best friend and family. The best friend's family consisted of 3 boys and a girl, ages ranging from 13-about 5 and all of them loved it. So that sounds like a great gift bag goody.

Thank you. I think I found the special thing that DS13 will get in his surprise goody bag.

If this is his first trip maybe. My DD loved it at 5. 8, and 9 but on our trip this summer at age 12 she had pretty much lost interest. On the other hand my 12 year old nephew, on his first trip, seemed to enjoy it.

Pin Trading isn't just for kids - kids of all ages (even nearly 38) enjoy it...

This is his 2nd trip. His first was Thanksgiving 2006. On that trip he was 11 and loved collecting autographs. I guess we'll give it a try - if he doesn't like doing it, then I'm sure DS8 would love to take it over. You know how children are - one wants what the other doesn't want - they have to disagree.

My daughter is 11 1/2, she loves pin trading.:yay: I think you 13 year old will love it.

Where would I get arcade cards?? And can they be used anywhere on property? Disneyquest is in our plans and we're staying at Beach Club--my kids (unfortunely love arcades)

Thanks!!!

I asked someone I knew to buy them for me when they were in WDW last month. I forget which resort they stayed at but they can be used at the resorts - not sure about Disney Quest.

My 13 year old told me for our trip in December he wants to trade but not wear a laynard. Sounds fine with me. i go to ebay and buy about 10-12 cheap pins and let him use those. I have my special ones that I collect (pooh dressed as santa from around the world). I'm still missinf acouple so I'll have mine too.
