Those of you who have had their kids do this, what do you think? We are planning for June 2006, and our sons will be 4 and 11...............we are also taking my nephew who will be 7. Anyway, I called just to ask for info on the pirate cruise as it sounded like fun and something the boys could do together. The CM said that it only goes to age 10........that they would not take an 11 year old...........now, we can go instead of in June, in April before his bday when he's still 10 if we want to..........we have barely decided to go so it wouldn't be like replanning the vacation around this one thing, but just something we could do for all the boys.............however, the CM said that they are very strict about the age because older children won't enjoy it, it's only geared towards youngers.....................anybody had a 10 year old go before and did he like it? I don't want to exclude him if he would like it, but if he wouldn't, then we'll just send the little boys (hopefully little brother would go without him!), and let him spend more time in the pool, arcade or DQ.

My 3 kids went at 12, 11, and 8. We also were told about the age thing but when we got there the cruise was not at capacity so they said my oldest daughter could go. All 3 kids loved it.

My son will be 10 in 25 days...and he just did the pirate cruise in December. He loves it and is very disappointed that this will be the last year he is permitted to go. Actually they didn't even get to really go on the cruise...as the weather was so cold that day they did an indoor pirate adventure. He still loved it...and his 4yo sister loved having him there. But he has done the cruise twice before...at the age of 4 and again at 7yo.

I'll admit that my son has no problem playing with much younger kids and just enjoys...well...being a kid! Maybe a very mature 10yo might not enjoy it....but I think anyone willing to play along could have a good time. I would imagine though that some children above the age of 10 might bring an element to the cruise that would not be appreciated by the smaller kids (or perhaps their parents or the cm "camp counselors")...in that they can be rather "worldly" yet not have any discretion about sharing their worldliness.
